I Like ItI Don’t Like It

This video from a Palin event today catches the vice presidential nominee putting herself before John McCain on the ticket. Check out the video and read more here from ABC News.

Politico's Jonathan Martin had this related report:

At a rally outside Youngstown, Ohio, Tuesday night, dozens of attendees left while McCain was still speaking.

I caught up with a few of them. Some explained that the airplane hangar where the rally was being held had grown crammed and uncomfortable. Others said they had other events or commitments to get to.

Notably, though, the exodous had only begun after Palin spoke.

Now, the same thing has happened again.

"I look up, about five minutes into McCain's address and see a steady stream of people walking out of the rally," writes Radio Iowa's Kay Henderson from a McCain-Palin event in Cedar Rapids.

My husband owns a small business being wiped out by likes of Home Depot. Gone are the days of the local bookstore. Local restaurant? I know many who own small business whose have little access to credit and compete with monopolies.

What about the SBA, the Small Business Association in Commerce? Well...better not think about that. Here is something from Aug. 22 NYTimes:
The American Small Business League, which has locked horns with the Small Business Administration over the awards of small-business contracts to large corporations, has been critical. Its president, Lloyd Chapman, has publicly worried that Mr. Baruah’s goal is to either eliminate the Small Business Administration or fold it into the Commerce Department.

In the last eight years there has been no support for the local business owner...the kind that support the hockey teams. Check out the web page of the American Small Business League with its counter of how much small businesses have lost in the past year. Ask any small builder or someone who does home remodeling about their stocks and savings. ASBL: http://www.asbl.com/

Well tere sure was a small business boon when we had a Democratic President. Remember the days of the dot com boon, Anybody could set up shop and the government gave all kinds of incentives to spur the small business development. I have a business now computer based started during 1998 thanks to the Clinton economy. I can make money from the comfort of my home and was able to see after my family from my home office. Was able to be around to watch teens who need keeping an eye on.

I guess that was why my teens actually did not get in trouble, preggers and ended up grauduating from college with advanced degrees. That was back in the 90's and Democratic Presidents, before this dreadful hostile regime government took over.

Take a hint Sarah, Mayor of the Crystal meth, crime capital of Alaska. Obama for the good old days.

People if you want to know what's going on in Alaska, you should read their daily paper: It's headline
"Abdication by Palin" and continues further....Is it too much to ask that Alaska's governor speak for herself, directly to Alaskans, about her actions as Alaska's governor?

Read on via link.

I like the comment made by an Alaskian Citizen "Impeach Palin" Also I am rather pleased to see others share my view of Palin not being with her Children with whom Need to have a Mom. I was starting to feel I was Alone in this concern. I see others are also. My Mom raised 7 children and worked, but if we were sick she was their with us. We never got into any trouble, because we had our Mom involved in our lives. My Mom would have voted for McCain but she does not enjoy this choice of VP. My sister will not vote for Palin and she is a Republican and mother of two Young Children.

When questions on the care of Palins children have came up ,Palin says ,Todd is going to be a stay at home dad ,just when IS Todd Palin planning on staying home ,after the elections ,because HE is in EVERY Video,Rally ect.No kids to be seen /Are they backstage with the soon to be teen mother sister ,with a Tax payer paid nanny ?Or are secret service now taxpayer paid ,baby sitters ?Something just is NOT clicking right ,with Palin an her stories .Something isn't right about the woman .Millions of Americans sense this and it's not because she is a Republican,as thousands Republicans are getting a bit concerned over her refuseing to cooporate with a investigation SHE started by filing a complaint against herself !!.A good old fashioned PUBLICITY STUNT maybe ?If shes innocent of wrong doing WHY ignore orders to appear and give HONEST testimony by her husband Todd and herself ??She is now makeing smears concerning Patriotism, that paying taxes isn't patriotic ? WAIT ,this article pretty well explains the MEANING of Patriotism "It is being a good citizen that cares about our communities (basicly SUPPORTING our ommunities ,which means FUNDING and TAXES )and respect each others pursuits of happiness. In wartime, it is supporting our troops, but speaking up to our leaders if we feel it is an unjust http://www.democracyforamerica.com/blog_posts/25821-july-4th-whats-your-idea-of-patriotismtism

Within an hour of hearing Sarah Palin's acceptance speech at the Republican convention, I visited a former KGB prison that is now a museum in Tartu, Estonia. Ringing in my ears were Sarah Palin's words where she mocked Barack Obama for caring about reading prisoners their rights. Standing in that grim place where cruelty and abuse abounded, I could think only about how much I wanted my president to care about reading rights to all prisoners! I doubt many rights were read to people that walked through THOSE prison doors.

Without the rule of law, we risk becoming like that KGB prison. The American presidential oath of office includes the pledge to protect and defend our constitution—and this most certainly includes the rule of law.

How dare Sarah Palin play fast and loose with this core tenet of our democracy--just to get a crowd all riled up at a convention and score political points. The path to fascism and despotism includes a great speaker who is able to use emotion to get a crowd to give up important things. And we must be ever vigilant against such things because "eternal vigilance is the price of liberty".

You, sir, are an arrogant, ignorant, hypocrite. You know nothing about what you speak. War is ugly. And if you want to read POW's their rights, go live in another country that does. HINT: You won't find one. PS, ask Sen McCain if he was read his rights.

you know what is even uglier? a war founded on fraud in which thousands of innocent people die, so that an elite few can steal the resources of sovereign nation, and where our president acts out some kind of Freudian drama...

How about we ask Senator McCain about the preferential treatment he received for being the admirals son? It seems to me that the good senator from Arizona was handed everything on a plate his entire life, and if that plate wasn't good enough, he'd leave it [first wife] for a richer plate...Senator McCain = Entitled Elite who will do anything to climb...

You know what is even uglier? A fraudulent war where thousands of Americans, and tens of thousands of innocent Iraqi's are killed so that an elite few [see: Cheney Energy Commission] can steal a sovereign nation's resources...

Why don't we ask the Good Senator McCain about all the preferential treatment he recieved over the course of his life [including while he was a POW] for being the legacy of some great men [admirals] or marrying into a budwieser fortune? oh, yeah, sorry about that first wife...she didn't have enough to offer I guess...

Welfare- Is it fair to assume that you think that Americans should go as low as they can just to get the job done? Hurt as many as needed and torture them as we want should we think they might have some info that could help us? Don't you think that kind of behavior comes back to haunt?

What happened to "do unto others as you would have them do unto you?"

I think you might be the "arrogant, ignorant, hypocrite."

Actually Sen. Obama never said anything about reading them their rights, the Miranda rights are rather immaterial here and not required by international law... however the writ of habeaus corpus is.

But by what you are saying we should be as bad as the Viet Cong and treat our prisoners the way they treated Sen. McCain?

So much for the shining city on the hill.

If Sarah repeats the Palin/McCain line too often, I can see Cindy McCain getting unhappy with John's "Soulmate". Unfortunately, McCain is a sad old man and his speech about the happy fish left the audience behind him looking like "What The Hell is He Talking About", while he chuckled at his little joke. I truly feel embarassed to think that this is the best that the GOP could have come up with. Had he, however, picked someone like Tom Ridge as his VP, I actually could have voted for him, knowing that if he died you would have a steady hand at the wheel. Instead we have Sarah and the Shadow Governor Todd Palin to inherit the Presidency. Scares the Hell out of me!

Shadow governor...is that kind of like what Hillary was...a shadow president? If you vote for Obama, you will feel your embarrassment not for McCain, but for yourself. Don't wish for something you don't really want. It will come back to haunt you.

I was amazed by the commentator during the Republican convention that related how Gov Palin's water broke while she was giving a speech in Texas and how determined she was to have the baby in Alaska that she got an a plane and made a 3 hour flight back to Alaska! She said this as if it were an incredible display of courage and strength. I wonder if there could have been a more virulent motivation. If there had been complications it could have been an extremely hazardous event for the fetus.

Her water broke/started leaking at 4 a.m. She should have immediately gone to a hospital for a fetal monitor - risk of infection and/or other damage to the fetus was great. She delayed so that she could give a speech late that morning, then flew commercial from Houston to Seattle, changed flights and flew from Seattle to Anchorage. Did she go to the top class Anchorage hospital with a good neo-natal unit? No, she had First Dude drive her another 40 miles to a small town hospital where her family doc - not an ob/gyn delivered her child. All told, it was about 11 hours of air travel. I have heard several medical doctors decry her behavior as putting her child at risk.

Well the easy way to fix the cheating on voting is to give everyone a receipt, a carbon copy, ot an atm like receipt. And it could be put into effect quickly!! Come on WE THE PEOPLE! Let's not let them steal nother election. Over 80% of this country want to vote Democratic. Those polls only showed 2227 people's thoughts. Do'nt be conned, & get out & get at least 3 people registered, help them sign an absentee ballot, & make sure you get it to where it will count. It's the people who are not voting that are making us lose these election & the rest is the ones who are getting robbed!

Is this what Obama and 3rd Party candidates are really up against?

It's your democracy. It's your country. Now that you know, what will you do about it?

Shed apathy. Spread the word.
