"Cynthia and Alex Rodriguez have amicably resolved their dissolution of marriage proceedings," lawyers for the former couple say in a statement. "They deliberately engaged in a private negotiation. During the negotiations and resolution all decisions were made with the best interests of their children as the paramount concern."

Cynthia, 35, filed for divorce in July, saying her estranged husband - known to fans as A-Rod - "emotionally abandoned" her and their children and had a series of affairs. Her lawyer also said Rodriguez, 33, had an "affair of the heart" with Madonna that was the "last straw."

A-Rod had an 'affair of the heart' with Madonna?
I bet that means she ate it?
Luckily he got away before she got his head.

What's funny to me is when men start getting angry when a women wants to challenge a prenuptial agree is it doesn't say "if I cheat on you I still get to keep everything." I get that's it is a contract, but so is marriage and when someone cheats they break "that contract." So if a cheater can break the contract, why can't she break one.

To clearthinker2008,

Your name is so appropriate because you hit the nail right on he head. That's the problem in this country, the marriage "contract" is not respected. If that contract is broken, then prenuptial contract is invalid too. I hope Cynthia got her due as even her cheating husband admitted earlier (while he was threatening her with paying his legal fees if she didn’t accept the prenup as is), that she is a good mother.

Exactly. And there are kids involved too. I guess the Yankees ensured he did the right thing, kept it out of the papers and provided a reasonable settlement. She may have also decided, for the sake of her kids, that this was the preferred route. too.
