I saw Ari Fleisher and DeeDee Myers on the Today show this morning and talking about this HUGE government bailout of rich banks and bankers. Ari began saying "This isn't a time for partisan politics and finger pointing, after all, this whole thing was caused by Americans taking out mortgages that they couldn't afford". DeeDee Myers went right after him, telling him that the REAL reason for this meltdown was because Republicans had deregulated the markets and the banks and they had treated it as a "free-for-all". Ari tried to argue some more, but she ended the conversation by saying "You can blame the American people, if that's what you want to do". This is the typical bullsh*t we have been hearing all along. "Those 'irresponsible' middle class and lower class Americans that don't pay their bills is the reason for this economic crisis"! They have robbed the Treasury blind! Now they want to shift the blame to us 'irresponsible', non-paying homeowners! I guess then they can say we deserve what we get!

Ever notice how these Republicans say that "universal health care is 'socialism'"? I guess bailing out huge banks is just 'good business'?

I loved DeeDee for her reply. Ari is such a tool.
And didn't this REPUBLICAN Administration just Nationalize some banks!
They don't want to call it that but that is just what they did.

The big difference between those European and Third World socialists and the Republicans...is that the first bunch "socialize" corporations when they are profitable and redistribute the wealth to the masses. The Republicans do it to bail out the fat-cats and stick the public with the bill.

When Wall Street comes calling for their corporate welfare the republicans never mention the words "free market economy," or "government needs to stay out of business."

The republicans are the biggest hypocrites and Ari Fleisher is as phony as a three dollar bill.

Absolutely correct. Republicans are the first to call for personal responsibility, and the worst for taking any themselves.

She'sright about a lot of this, the Republicans did deregulate the market but the commercial banks have always been regulated and still are. Then the Republicans realized fannie and freddie where in trouble, at that time they tried to put regulations on. The democrats voted against it. As far as the democrats were concerned the housing market was the only bright spot on the horizon. I blame the democrats for putting blinders over their eyes and shooting the messenger and I blame the Republicans for not taking this public when they knew there was a problem, they should have made a big deal out of it to the public and brought it to everyones attention, they didn't because they felt they needed to be politically correct. They didn't want to look like they were saying the poorer should not own homes. I can understand why they did this no one would have listened. Both parties are to blame, but the democrats could have stopped it. When instead they pushed it. O'bama is not entirely innocent he has a huge connection with Acorn who pushed all these loans. And they pushed them threateningly. We all need to stop the slinging and use our brains. Neither party is innocent.

When McCain's honor is impugned, he goes bananas.
He will blow his cork when his Keating Five stuff is brought up during a debate.

Yep, your right but it also includes the democrats in Congress pushing for these unstable loans. And when being warned about it closed their eyes. Also Acorn threatened and pushed the banks for these loans. that coupled with no regulation equals a big fat mess. Is no one honest anymore. We need to do away with this two party system.George Washington warned about it a long time ago. Give everyone their little bit of power not just divide it into two. Like the Republicans and Democrats. Everyone just votes for their party and blames the other party for everything thats wrong.

How is today's mess any different from the Keating debacle? What is a common thread---John McCain!!! When are we going to learn? When are we going to rise up and get rid of these politicians?

This is too early. It should stay in the freezer until McCain cries Rezko.
I think its too early.

Thanks for having this up.
Is that Paul Begala doing voice over? Great job.
We need to connect the dots from Keating 5, Silverado, and the present deregulating mess.
All have been brought to America by Republicans.

I think it is Begala. And Begala, along with others this week, have been on the news (term news used loosely) to give their advice about getting the K5 stuff out there. Some say it's too soon, but there is more stuff on McCain to bring forth as well & the timing is perfect given what is going on & with Americans dialed in.
