Politico:
In a change from the original proposal sent to Capitol Hill, foreign-based banks with big U.S. operations could qualify for the Treasury Department's mortgage bailout, according to the fine print of an administration statement Saturday night.
The theory, according to a participant in the negotiations, is that if the goal is to solve a liquidity crisis, it makes no sense to exclude banks that do a lot of lending in the United States.

Paulson and President Bush in their desperate attempts to keep the banks in nations that have played the investment game in America from dumping the American dollars they own want to pay them off with taxpayers money ... hum ... it doesn't take too much math to figure out that the American taxpayer will be burdened with the whole bailout worldwide! I wonder how long this strategy will last before these nations that hold dollars will figure out that those dollars are worthless!

I have noticed that more and more people realize that they are screwed. I have also noticed that more and more people are talking about a revolution. Moreso on the conservative boards. Maybe the liberals should start thinking political revolution, as in dumping and imprisoning the miscreants, Democrat and Republican, venture capitalist and disaster capitalists, that led to this disaster.
