Bears' New Tailgating Crackdown
For years, Nick and Leslie Petramale have gone to Bears games without tickets to tailgate and take in the outside-the-stadium atmosphere.
The Hoffman Estates couple tried to do so again Sunday at the Bears' home opener -- even though they knew the Bears are now banning the practice.
Their attempt didn't last long. About 45 minutes into the game, a security guard politely asked the Petramales to leave.
By that time, the south parking lot -- which last year would have been a hotbed of face-painted fans, grills, beer, televisions and radios -- resembled a ghost town.
