I Like ItI Don’t Like It

John McCain keeps on outdoing himself with his lies. Now he's trying to make the totally false case that Barack Obama doesn't have a plan for the economic crisis. "Senator Obama," he says, "has still not offered any plan of any kind."

As CNN's Tom Foreman reports:

No plan from Obama? No way. To the contrary, Senator Obama has talked at length about reforming Wall Street, getting CEO pay packages under control, instituting new regulations to protect homeowners. In short, what everybody wants: stabilizing the economy.

Foreman also added that McCain has "been notably short on details on how he would handle this crisis."

Here's video:

John McCain keeps on outdoing himself with his lies. Now he's trying to make the totally false case that Barack Obama doesn't have a plan for the economic crisis. "Senator Obama," he says, "has still ...

Wasn't J-mac going off about not politicizing the economic crisis just last week? We have an election here in canada in a few weeks, you should see the ad's and coverage .... it's like night and day compared to this.

Lou Dobbs just likes to hear his own head rattle, and -- as the old saw goes -- "An empty wagon rattles loudest." I quit listening to him quite a while back. There's a limit to how much crap a person can absorb patiently.

As for voters' intelligence quotients, my favorite quotation in the whole world is "Against stupidity, the gods themselves contend in vain." There no use in trying to use logic with people apparently incapable of reasonable and dispassionate thought processes. Whether this is a matter of IQ or personality is moot, but I favor the latter. I know people with PhD's who subscribe to utter nonsense outside the areas of their expertise.

As regards the question of voters' IQ's, my favorite quotation in the whole world is "Againt stupidity, the gods themselves contend in vain." There's no use trying to apply reason to get through to someone incapable of thinking logically and dispassionately. Whether this is a matter of intelligence or personality is moot, but the effects are the same.

Okay...I have been sending my older sis, a Republican, articles about McCain and his stupid lies, etc. I can't send from this site b/c she will tell me..."it's too liberal"...so I go to the source and send...one from WSJ the other day about GOP/socialism bail out...then today Will's piece about McCain losing his head from the Washington Post. So I get an email back...saying ...."I could never vote for someone named Obama, I don't like his mannerisms, I don't trust him"...I wrote back stating my unbelief that she is still going to vote for him...I said he is the candidate for old men...for bigots and racists who would rather destroy this country than vote for a black man. I told her...I think you should have finished your I don't trust him sentence with "Because he's black" ...People like that just get right under my skin. My best friend is the same way. Plays all "Oh, I'm a republican and I can't wait to vote for Hillary" in the primaries...when all she wanted to do was try to make sure Obama didn't get the nomination...and you know why...we all know why.

Luckily my dear, they are in the minority of voters, if the polls are anything to go by, and some of them have been pretty consistent on their attempts to suss out how many Americans are of the same mind as your sister and your friend. My kids' father and I have been divorced for more than a decade, and he and his new wife are just like what you described.. the thing that always flabbergasts me is that they have a young son now.... I cannot figure out how someone with a son who will reach "draftable age" within the next decade could still vote for McCain or anyone of his ilk.

The fun news here is that both of my daughters are hard core Obama supporters. Both were accepted into the Obama Organizing fellowship, both went and worked all summer in battleground states; and both of them give their dad and stepmother sheer h3ll every chance they get.

The new generation, they are not only computer savvy but they are way more aware, way more advanced and much much smarter than their parents... Thank God!!!

Good luck... keep ramming your head against that brick wall... tell them they can thank you later. :-)

I know exactly what you mean and it makes me so mad.

I was in a waiting room hospital and 2-3 people are talking about the election and one woman said, "I just can't vote for someone who's last name is Hussein"... other woman said: "OMG, you sound just like my mom!"

Bigots! That's what they are! I'm gonna be so mad if McCain wins.

The GOP needs "low income voters" is true. What former Rep. Dick Armey calls the "bubba vote". Hey, lets call a spade a spade. They need all non-thinking rednecks to vote against their best interests one more time!!!!!!!!

Analogy: McCain says "Obama has not yet offered a plan to make the sun rise tomorrow." Technically true at the time it was said! Then Obama comes out with a plan to make the sun rise tomorrow, at which point CNN says McCain was in error even though at the time McCain said it it was true!

It's a stupid game and you should all be tired of it.

Obama has been saying this for months. McCain lies constantly.

Here's something for everyone to put up for Halloween.

on a third

McCain said that "one week after this crisis began, Senator Obama has still not offered any plan of any kind." CNN called it false because it WAS false at the time McCain uttered it.

Take a look at the video Obama prepared one DAY into the crisis:

Fairly lame analogy ya got there, pal. How 'bout McCain spouting off how he's the big regulator for the past week, while for the previous 26 years, his voting record proves he's in lock step with all the right wing, free marketeer, Friedmanites.

McCain has had more details in his statements than Obama, who basically sings the old song "Anything you can do, I can do better...I can do anything better than you. Yes I can, yes I can, yes I can!" Come on, sing along! CNN is revealing itself as a shill for Obama more and more every day, accepting unquestioningly what he says and what he claims he said or what he says he meant, but nitpicking everything McCain says--and then the left-wing crazy sites claim McCain LIED! It's getting tiresome. Here's Obama:

"John McCain's plan for a board to oversee the bailout is a good one and I agree." Well, no, he didn't exactly phrase it that way, but he did agree with McCain's propsal for such a bipartisan board.

Meanwhile, in other news, Joe Biden disagreed with most of what Obama said...well, not yet he didn't, but give him time.

I agree with Greg285. Republicans could not care less about Middle America or the religious right. Let me define republican a little more distinctly. Neocon, corporate, oil barons who have run this country into the ground by pulling the wool over the eyes of decent republicans and Reagan democrats all for profit. Wake up America!!!!!

I just read a few comments with Lou Dobbs more of a supporter for McClueless! Y of course~!! Lou Dobbs is the most pitiful poor excuse CNN, who calls himself independent...yah right... other than Glenn Beck has to offer on that network! Lou Dobbs is married to a Latina yet of course he would want McClueless in, just for some type of immigration reform, but not in a gracious manner. This man has a hard up on illegals and I think personally some animous for hispanics, yet married one??? What a strange guy. He gets downright irrational, everyday all the time, he can't let go, U never have to guess the topic within his show.......(Dobbs: the world is ending...illegals are crossing over) yep illegals, hispanics, something every night! Perhaps he should move his show to the border and monitor it himself. I guess he is probably having nightmare sweats with the prediction of 2047 everyone will be a minority other than hispanics! lolol

This should not suprise you that Lou Dobbs can be married to a Latina and scapegoat hispanics at the same time. Slave owners in The South would regularly sleep with (rape) their slaves all the while doing the most horrid and racist things. Lou Dobbs talk alot about undocumented immigration. Most of the time he says they bring disease(they are dirty), we should not import food from them (their food is dirty) and that they are criminals. This are historic racist sterotypes used against Hispanics. I've never heard him talk about undocumented Irish, Russian, or Canadians. I don't know why. Oh wait, their white. If Americans don't want to see brown faces or hear Spanish, they shouldn't go around conquering and subjugating them.

Which of the following can best be described as MIA?

a. Obama's plan for the economic crisis
b. John McCain of 2000
c. Sarah Palin's foreign policy experience
d. One of McCain's houses

Of course the answer is d. Obama does have a plan so that's not MIA. The John McCain of 2000 is known to be gone forever, so he's not actually missing. Sarah Palin never had any foreign policy experience to lose. Therefore the answer is a McCain house. Though technically someone knows where it is, McCain does not so it is missing in his mind only, but MIA nonetheless.

These are all great points which are brought to view. Pointing out that the IQ of a voter can be determined by which candidate is supported is ingenious. Obviously I must be stupid because I support the more conservative views of the Republican, I must be ignorant and of low IQ. Maybe I am dumb. Why don't you guys let me know how dumb I am. I believe that the purpose of the government is to protect the people. I do not believe that government's job is to redistribute the wealth of the intelligent upper class by taxing their income at higher and higher levels. What is the difference between this and socialism. Our views may be different, but it is interesting that you consider voting for the "wrong" candidate an IQ determination. I think not voting and not caring who is our leader is a much better IQ test. But I would love to be explained how dumb I am, so fire away.

Okay, you're so dumb that you've posted a nearly incoherent, off-topic rant about how dumb you are. There was nothing in the above article about intelligence quotient (let me dumb that down for you, it's abbreviated by the letters IQ.) Allow me to quote you in order to illustrate just how dumb you are:

"Our views may be different, but it is interesting that you consider voting for the "wrong" candidate an IQ determination."

I challenge you to find anything in the above article or video that questions your or anyone's intelligence...hey, you asked for it!

How many times DO you have to stick your hand in the fire before you figure out that it's "hot"? You are more than welcome to support your conservative views (whatever they may be, although I'd say you might want to clue in the rest of the right as to what they are...even *they* don't seem to be following them these days!), but getting rid of tax loop holes for the rich isn't the same as redistributing their wealth.

There are many things in this country that can be done without the benefit of an intelligence test - but surely SHOULD have a test in place that do not...may as well add "voting" to that list.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 04:18 PM on 09/23/2008

There is a difference between getting rid of tax loopholes for the rich and just outright raising tax rates for the rich. This is what I would call redistributing their wealth.

The purpose of the government (in this case the office of the president) is not to "protect the people". Look at the presidential oath. "I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States." Nowhere does it say the president's job is to protect you. On the other hand amendment XVI of the constitution does allow for income tax collection.

As far as why it's right, fair, and just for the guy with more to pay more, the answer is quite simple. Most of the government functions are geared towards protection of assets. Look at how many laws deal with the acquisition or transfer of funds and property versus how many have to deal with protection of body. Since the people with more assets both directly and indirectly benefit more from the government's services, let them foot the bill.

The reality of the situation though, is that the quickly shrinking middle class bears an undue amount of the tax burden. McCain won't make this any better. Palin would happily do away with the 1st amendment. She is a religious zealot who thinks evolution is false and dinosaurs lived less than 6000 years ago. If you support the people who will continue the policies that have been wrecking this country for the last 8 years, then yes, it says something about your intelligence.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 05:42 PM on 09/23/2008

I don't know why you feel that the middle class is quickly shrinking. Do you have any information to show you this? As far as Palin being a religious zealot who thinks that dinosaurs lived less that 6000 years ago, I don't understand how this affects her political policies. And as far as Christianity wrecking our country, maybe you should check out the constitution. Almost all of the ideas of the constitution come from biblical principles. To think that being a Christian shows a lack of intelligence is suggesting that the founding fathers who left Europe for religious freedom also lacked the same intelligence.
