Chris Rock Disses Bill Clinton For Tepid Obama Support

If you happened to catch The View this afternoon, you likely marveled at Bill Clinton's ability to call the 2008 election for Barack Obama without actually suggesting that Obama, as a candidate, had any particular quality that would enable the win, which would instead come about through a confluence of happy electoral accidents. The former president, let us say, is nothing if not consistent in his sense of party loyalty, where party=the party in his pants.

Apparently, Bill Clinton managed to be even more of an undermining douche coy about his support for the Democratic nominee on tonight's iteration of The Late Show With David Letterman, because something inspired his fellow guest, comedian Chris Rock, to remark, "Boy, is it me or he didn't want to say the name Barack Obama?" From there, Rock went into a lengthy harangue about Hillary Clinton ("I love Hillary, but she lost...The Patriots got a lot of points, too, but they lost"), before finally referring to Sarah Palin's Alaska as "Road Warrior with snow."

Looks like someone's not going to be playing any Clinton Global Initiative benefits anytime soon!

I think Bill Clinton is waiting for the last of the debates to end. Then he will charge around to a small number of states where Obama is behind but is mathematically competitive, and forcing Team McCain to react in ways that they wouldn't otherwise want to.

I think Bill Clinton will prove to be the ultimate "diversionary weapon" of this election.

Bill has absolutely no proof he's saved anything, except a hell of a lot of contributions. All of the efforts of his foundation seem to be combined with those of other groups, with the kind of results that are hard to measure and even harder to attribute--not that that stops him. He reminds me of our local supermarket that collects a dollar for some charity as you're paying for your groceries, then claims to be the "donor" of its customers' contributions when it writes the charity the check.

Chris just said what we are all thinking, Bill doesn't want to help Barrack out at all. We all saw the View segment, it was terrible. The alpha male is no longer a "Clinton" and Bill can't take it. When Kerry misspoke when telling a joke and the Neo-Cons went after him, who was it that told him he needed to apologize, Hillary Clinton. She was trying to keep him out of 2008. Al Gore turned his back on Bill, nobody else did. I'm not sure if your watching the same clip as the rest of us, but it almost pains Bill to even speak Obama's name. You don't say things like, I think "HE'S" going to win, you say " I KNOW BARRACK WILL WIN". You don't wait until 35 days are left in the race to make a couple of speeches, you say on day one, where do you need me what do I need to do. Whatever points I gave to Bill Clinton, he has lost them. On The View he said wasn't even into 'politics' anymore. Yeah, right. He's not into it anymore because he wanted his wife to win at all costs. If Obama loses, people will still feel the same way about Bill Clinton now.
