Contessa Brewer Wins Latest Round Of "Stump Tucker Bounds"

Another day, another opportunity for a teevee news anchor to play, and subsequently win, a round of Stump Tucker Bounds! Today it's MSNBC's Contessa Brewer's turn. She asks Bounds how McCain will pay for the Paulson bailout and the Iraq War without raising taxes. Bounds deflects the question by saying that a better question is to ask Barack Obama how he will pay for government spending to turn all Americans into elitists, but Brewer isn't having any of it, telling Bounds, "I actually thought my question was pretty good!" That leads Bounds to recite a bunch of platitudes that just don't sound as nice without Sarah Palin's Alaska dialect. Why hasn't Tucker Bounds learned from Steve Schmidt that the correct answer to all questions is "YOU ARE IN THE TANK! TANKITY TANK McTANK!"

Who in the Hell is Tucker Bounds??? I have searched the Internet looking for biographical or background information on the man - and I can find nothing except references to either his press statements or television appearances.

Does anyone out there know anything about him? What his qualifications are to do the job he is doing? What is his education? What is his previous career experience?

He's such a smart-mouth, but seemingly a very competent smart-mouth. But I'd sure like to know more about him - if anyone out there could tell me. Thanks.

Exactly. Nancy Pfofentaur and other McCain "surrogates" let these unsupported statements (lies) fly and the talking heads aren/t sharp enough to catch them. It is established that McCain has received earmarks.

McCain himself does it all the time on the stump too. Then they play the videoclip and let his duplicity stand. The latest one is that Rick Schmidt had nothing to do with lobbying for Freddie Mac since 2005, when his firm is receiving payments right up to last month.

Also: Obama will raise taxes on everyone making $42k per year. This is one that gets repeated over and over and it's never challenged by the talking heads.

if i were a journalist interviewing McCain.....i would simply keep repeating the question until he answered, and since he doesn't really have any answers it would only make him flustered, no matter what he says to weasel out, don't engage him, just keep repeating the question.......i think he would start to lose it pretty quick.....especially if it were a women
