Under the pressure of the financial crisis, one presidential candidate is behaving like a flustered rookie playing in a league too high. It is not Barack Obama.

Channeling his inner Queen of Hearts, John McCain furiously, and apparently without even looking around at facts, said Chris Cox, chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission, should be decapitated. This childish reflex provoked the Wall Street Journal to editorialize that "McCain untethered" -- disconnected from knowledge and principle -- had made a "false and deeply unfair" attack on Cox that was "unpresidential" and demonstrated that McCain "doesn't understand what's happening on Wall Street any better than Barack Obama does."

Mc Ancient lost his head? Perhaps he have his staff check to see if he left it in Spain when he was in South America earlier this year.

McCain is out of touch, instead of speaking about the bailout, he is speaking negative talk about Obama. At this moment it is not about McCain or Obama, It's about the American people.

Have you not listened to Obama's recent speeches at rallies trashing McCain for many minutes at a time? Then, he'll spend another 5 minutes telling us how corrupt and bad Wall Street is like we didn't already know. Then, he gives his laundry list of stuff that it's unlikely he'll get done.

They took the risk, they own the assets which they inflated the price of.

The monopolists needs to figure a way to solve this, America needs jobs that pay a living wage to service this load.

As for the cost of borrowing to increase?

That's blackmail

They have the capital, they need to put it to work somewhere, paper is useless.

It was all the leveraging of these assets at 40 to 1 that got them their. I do not pay for someone else's losses at a roulette wheel.

It really Peeved me when Paulson said we will not spend the $700 billion all at once, but we want it all now.

All the donkeys are using the term "blank check" but Obama raised it to another level by calling it a 700 billion dollar blank check.
Brilliant.
He also said the next set of economic figures will show we're in a recession.
Brilliant.

AP - Leading senators of both parties are expressing strong reservations about the administration's financial bailout plan despite pleas from the treasury secretary and Federal Reserve chairman for quick passage.

They say it will get worse, well we won't be alone, it will pull the world down

All roads lead to Rome.

The monopolists have an interest in solving their problem. America already services enough debt now!

Watch this vote closely, and see who will add to your and your families debt.

Let the Monopolists figure a way out, they made the rules. And they can only get their hooks into you with debt

Debt = slavery

2,350 dollars for every American young and old.

Just over 10,000 dollars for a family of 4.

Mccain championed deregulation of Wall street> He was a leading supporter of the 1999 Gramm-sponsered legislation that repealed an FDR measure that created walls between banking, investment, and insurance businesses so that problems in one arena could not bleed over into others-the major source of our current dilemma.

Agree, but why did Bill Clinton sign it into law ? If he had vetoed it, the Democrats would have probably gone along. Enough blame to go around.

I was not aware that when Paulson left the private sector he received 500 million in compensation.
Not only that but there is some loophole that if you leave the private sector for a govt job you get to wave a huge portion of the capitol gains on your payout. He payed capitol gains on 200 million of the half a billion.
A bunchafukin criminals is what they all are.

I've called my reps and faxed twice yesterday and 3 times today.

The folks taking the phone calls say the phones have never lit up as much before.

This is very serious. Please do your part and make the call!
