Bush Mccain

Over the last few days, John McCain has talked a decent game when it comes to enacting new regulations to protect American families from another financial crisis. But as this new video demonstrates, McCain's talk is just hot air -- he's got no record to back it up.

Last March, he famously said that he was "fundamentally a deregulator." In July, he said that his "fundamental difference" with Barack Obama was that Obama favored "more regulation" while he favored less. And earlier this month, McCain's strong support for deregulation was on display in speech after speech at the GOP convention.

Now, John McCain is scrambling to follow Barack Obama's lead as a reform-minded proponent of regulation. But that can't change the fact that when it comes to his record, all the way up until Thursday of last week, John McCain is "The Fundamental Deregulator" -- and YouTube is here to prove it:

Why is this not in an ad for Obama?! Come on Obama... get out an ad with McCain's own words. There is nothing else you need to say. Nothing else... just let McCain's words speak for itself.
Brilliant!

Never in the history of American politics has a more grandiose media manipulator and derequlator hoped Americans were deaf, dumb and blind to his heroic history!

Who can oppose Maverich the Deregulator?

I can see a win win situation here. Instead of giving the money to the banks and brokers that caused the problem, give it the people who are loosing their houses, can't pay their credit card bills, or even pay for gas to go to work. Figure, if we give it to them, they can pay off their homes, pay off their credit cards, and so forth. The people are taken care of, the banks get their money, and we can get on with life.

Deregulation is the correct course.

And in addition, such would reduce the amount of public financial "contributions" allegedly "given" to the greatone.

Deregulation is the correct course.

Sure it is. If you want to put the final in the coffin of our economy.

BTW: Reagan was the start of all this. His library and any other memorials should be stripped of his name.

In another era, you would be standing on the prow of the Titanic shouting everything is fine, nothing to worry about folks.

How d.eluded are you? Even Pat Buchanon admits that we needed more regulation.

Sure...look how well it's worked for our economy. I guess you like your taxes going to bailing out the rich from their mistakes so they don't have to suffer too much.

If you check out the site below you'll find out just how much McCain (or Obama) has voted or not voted. Neither one has participated much due to the campaign, but check out the years prior on McCain......a disgrace. A lot of information on "Thomas" so follow your pick.

I just saw McC being asked if he would vote for the bailout bill- he completely evaded the question.

BTW: if it wasn't for McC and his cronies we wouldn't be in this mess.

This would be a great ad for Obama if there is video with Bush speaking on deregulation too. The three should be in the ad Bush, McCain and Rommney.

Not true - regulations that were put in place following the Great Depression would have made the sub-prime lending debacle impossible. Phil Gramm and John McSame championed the gutting of those regulations. Why don't you try reading up on these things before you start parroting the latest nonsensical talking points, lemmings?

Mccant is not fit to be anywhere near Washington-period.

One of the oldest senators will Shake up the Good Ole Boy's club, my ask!

Our national debt is approximately 11 trillion, of which McBush and company scandered and he want's to be president with no core beliefs, no direction and he's co-opped policies from Obama & Biden of which I find a sick tactic that he clearly struggle with because he is a GWB crony and he knows it and can't not separate himself from it.

No Way, No How, No McCain and certainly not WaSilly! She can go back to Alaska, whom she's sold completely out and thrown under the bus.

Go Obama/Biden 2008!

McCain never had any of his own opinions in this area. His statements on deregulation came straight from Phil Gramm.

Your statement simply does not hold up to scrutiny. John McSame and Phil Gramm - both pubs - lead the fight to gut regulations that had been put in place after the Great Depression, which would have prevented the sub-prime mortgage debacle. It is a matter of public record. If you insist on making such ridiculous accusations, how about presenting some evidence to support your claims. Oh, that's right - you have none.

Phineus, either you're not very old or not very smart. Reagan put us on this track and the fiscal conservatives have claimed the philosophy of deregulation as their main tenet ever since.

McCain was in favor of ALL deregulation for 27 years. He changed his mind in the middle of last week.
