Bush Mccain

Over the last few days, John McCain has talked a decent game when it comes to enacting new regulations to protect American families from another financial crisis. But as this new video demonstrates, McCain's talk is just hot air -- he's got no record to back it up.

Last March, he famously said that he was "fundamentally a deregulator." In July, he said that his "fundamental difference" with Barack Obama was that Obama favored "more regulation" while he favored less. And earlier this month, McCain's strong support for deregulation was on display in speech after speech at the GOP convention.

Now, John McCain is scrambling to follow Barack Obama's lead as a reform-minded proponent of regulation. But that can't change the fact that when it comes to his record, all the way up until Thursday of last week, John McCain is "The Fundamental Deregulator" -- and YouTube is here to prove it:

The Keating Five

McCain supporters can't recall it.
Reporters don't know about it or choose not to remember it.

However the voters in Ohio remember it well.

I am an Obama supporter and I would NEVER NEVER NEVER tell anyone not to vote. Encourage them to vote for someone else but do not tell people not too vote when so many fought and died for these rights. What is wrong with you? You should be ashamed of yourself.

Anyone who's familiar with yoga will recognize this. The Repub Right's repeatede'deregulate' mantra has the same purpose as a yoga mantra. It focuses the mind while allowing it to become utterly blank.

As an independent conservative I am dismayed by some of the posts I am reading on various blog sites by supporters of John McCain. They are repeating the same old cliches about Barack Obama that they're hearing on talk radio and conservative blogs, while totally ignoring that John McCain is not acting in a manner consistent with conservative principles.
It will take more than condesending insults to move our country out of the mess we're in. Lets not be fooled again.

There's a reason he can't keep track of what he says, but nobody wants to talk about it...

let me tell you real world situation that I am going through. The bailout of f mac is going cost me $2500 a year because they have to recoup their lost. Because of the floods in Greens burg and other local ares and I had made a insurance claim prior, FEMA reclassified my property as a flood zone never mind all the improvements I made to my property to keep my house from flooding witch it has not. So to prove this I have to pay $7000 for survey and on top this you would think my property tax would go down but nooooooooooo I am also fighting the county, So see i am screwed no matter what do I am being cornered by three gov agencies. The lesson I has been reinforced. More or bigger gov is not the answer it is the problem and there is no such thing as a smarter gov

You can't fight city hall...

There's a story from Galveston that many beach front homes can simply be claimed by the Texas government if the beach was washed away by Hurricane Ike. Over the past 40 years, the provision has been used to take homes away several times, and it has been litigated by the homeowners many times, but the state has won every single case.

DON'T LET ANYONE TELL YOU THE DEMS AREN'T ON TOP OF THIS CRISIS!

"'These two entities -- Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac -- are not facing any kind of financial crisis,'' said Representative Barney Frank of Massachusetts, the ranking Democrat on the Financial Services Committee. ''The more people exaggerate these problems, the more pressure there is on these companies, the less we will see in terms of affordable housing.''

Affordable housing = bad loans = Wall St. collapse!

OBAMA/BIDEN = Change we can't afford!

Yeah, right.

Exactly right. McCain was one of 4 Republican co-sponsors of S.190 in 2006, which would have put portfolio limits on Fannie and Freddie, and prevented them from getting "too big to fail".

It also would have prevented them from making investments in any risky, high yield loans that were outside the scope of their charter.

Dems opposed it on a party line vote, complaining that such portfolio limits would "hurt the companies' ability to carry out their mission to increase affordable housing."

McCain was right to support regulating GSEs that put taxpayer dollars at risk, while Dems were too busy pushing their social engineering to bother.

From the GOP Party Platform approved at the convention (see http://www.gop.com/2008Platform/Economy.htm):

Rebuilding Homeownership

"We do not support government bailouts of private institutions. Government interference in the markets exacerbates problems in the marketplace and causes the free market to take longer to correct itself. We believe in the free market as the best tool to sustained prosperity and opportunity for all."

I see the little man behind the curtain in the land of OZ. His name is McCain.

However, not everyone reads Huff and not everyone follows as we don these websites....so it's up to Obama, the left 527's and the other democrats to slam this in the press, the rally and ever chance they get.

Obama has enough to put two McCains away on Friday. I pray he uses it.

With all of McCain's contradictory statements, it seems that Obama doesn't need to show up to the upcoming debates. McCain can debate himself.
