Lindsay Lohan Confirms: I've Been Dating Sam "A Long Time"

LOS ANGELES — Lindsay Lohan has confirmed what the world has guessed: She's been dating Samantha Ronson "a very long time."

The 22-year-old actress casually told the co-host of the syndicated radio program "Loveline" on Monday that she's been dating the 31-year-old DJ. The pair have appeared in public and been photographed together but have never publicly commented about the extent of their relationship.

"You guys, you and Samantha, have been going out for how long now?" DJ Ted Stryker asked. "Like two years, one year, five months, two months?"

"For a very long time," Lohan said after laughing.

Stryker interviewed Ronson while she took a break from DJing at TV Guide's Emmy afterparty Monday night in Los Angeles. Ronson had been discussing her friendship with DJ AM and Travis Barker, who are recovering from severe burns following a plane crash in South Carolina last weekend, before putting Lohan on the phone.

Lohan's publicist, Leslie Sloane-Zelnik, told The Associated Press on Monday that Lohan is not engaged to be married.

She was asked and simply answered and is getting on with life. From the context of this article, she didn't go out of her way. Somebody who felt they needed to know asked and she answered. Okay, she giggled afterward, but there are several different contexts available, but she's been more mature than others...

In all honesty, I have to respect that. Others like to say "It's never anyone's business" and then, two years later, decide they have to tell everyone "Yes I am, hear me now!" and wordlessly suggesting all they want are 15 more minutes of fame...

And it is nobody's business. Just as long as nobody else gets hurt. So if anyone has a disease, tell your special buddy before staining sheets. Sorry for the tangent.

I think her previous "bad girl behavior" could very possibly have been a sign that she was not living her life the way she truly wanted to. My sister had a very good friend in high school. I'll call her "Sarah." Sarah was a hardcore partier, very, very promiscuous, and an alcoholic by the time she graduated high school. She had a lot of that self loathing that comes along with said issues. By the time she graduated from college she had come out as a lesbian. Now she no longer is the hardcore partier, no longer drinks, and loves herself and her life. It may sound corny or whatever, but the truth was she was so unhappy because of her issues with coming out, not only to herself but to those she loves, that she was "acting out." I think Lindsay's previous lifestyle and actions could very well have been symptomatic of the issues she had with her true feelings, and perhaps that included the fact that she was really a lesbian, or at least was in love with another woman (i.e. Sam). Now she seems to be in a more zen-like place, is working in a professional way, etc. Her history and the way her current state is now make total sense to me, IMO.

I think you are, like, totally right. When I heard Lindsay was getting into all this bizarre trouble and then was dating a woman, I thought, ah, now it makes sense. She had to go a little crazy to be able to break out of the suffocating social control that heterosexual society is built on, and as a celibrity, she was forced to internalize that. I'd go crazy too. And now she's a cool, calm, collected, and OUT lesbian. HOORAY FOR THAT.
