Lindsay Lohan Confirms: I've Been Dating Sam "A Long Time"

LOS ANGELES — Lindsay Lohan has confirmed what the world has guessed: She's been dating Samantha Ronson "a very long time."

The 22-year-old actress casually told the co-host of the syndicated radio program "Loveline" on Monday that she's been dating the 31-year-old DJ. The pair have appeared in public and been photographed together but have never publicly commented about the extent of their relationship.

"You guys, you and Samantha, have been going out for how long now?" DJ Ted Stryker asked. "Like two years, one year, five months, two months?"

"For a very long time," Lohan said after laughing.

Stryker interviewed Ronson while she took a break from DJing at TV Guide's Emmy afterparty Monday night in Los Angeles. Ronson had been discussing her friendship with DJ AM and Travis Barker, who are recovering from severe burns following a plane crash in South Carolina last weekend, before putting Lohan on the phone.

Lohan's publicist, Leslie Sloane-Zelnik, told The Associated Press on Monday that Lohan is not engaged to be married.

frankly, i dont really care what ppl are doing in the privacy of their own bedrooms - so long as it's consenting. gay, straight, bi....who gives a da-n. especially celebrities. i resent ppl pushing others "out of the closet," too. this is where liberties and the democracy of the first amendment make way for our desire of freedom FROM the press.

on the one hand, when we need the truth about politics, our economy and world news, what we get is conciliatory "editorial" news -- edited to cover, abstract and conceal, i.e. we still don't know the truth about what's going on in iraq, afghanastan and pakistan. on the other hand, when it comes to the lives of celebrities that first amendment right is exegeted and isogeted giving new meaning to the phrase "too much informatio­n."

we're becoming more misinformed relying on blog sites rather than what was once believed to be "dependable" news outlets.

i can't believe i'm commenting on this, but i think the two of them are really very cute together. and, they seem happy. i saw the most amazing disgusting thing on some website about a year ago. it was the most horrible greasy person (brandon davis????) saying disgusting things about lohan's pubic hair with paris hilton laughing and laughing away. if this is the sort of thing that passes for normal in lohan's world, then i'm happy for her that she had the courage and moxie to jump off it. she seems like a good person who got screwed up in life early on. let her be.

Since when is taking issue with the specific person a girl is dating being a malcontent? If Lindsay were involved with, say, Ellen Page or (Lindsay should be so lucky) Rachel Maddow, we'd all shrug it off because it would mean that Lindsay has taste. But Lindsay is with a girl who looks like a guy I was friends with in elementary school and is essentially the female equivalent of those nightclub guys who are normally described as the slang term for Summer's Eve feminie hygeine products. Under other circumstances this would be called "good parenting.­"
