Palin

Salon:

Before Sarah Palin decided to run for the Wasilla mayor's office in 1996 against incumbent John Stein, the Palins and Steins were friends. John Stein had helped launch Palin's political career, mentoring the hockey mom during her 1994 run for City Council, along with veteran council member Nick Carney. Stein's wife, Karen Marie, went to aerobics classes with Palin.

But when she announced her candidacy for Stein's seat, vowing to overturn the city's "old boy" establishment, a different Sarah Palin emerged. "Things got very ugly," recalled Naomi Tigner, a friend of the Steins. "Sarah became very mean-spirited."

Even though Palin knew that Stein is a Protestant Christian, from a Pennsylvania Dutch background, her campaign began circulating the word that she would be "Wasilla's first Christian mayor." ...

The Palin campaign also started another vicious whisper campaign, spreading the word that Stein and his wife -- who had chosen to keep her own last name when they were married -- were not legally wed. Again, Palin knew the truth, Stein said, but chose to muddy the waters. "We actually had to produce our marriage certificate," recalled Stein, whose wife died of breast cancer in 2005 without ever reconciling with Palin.

I thought the comment that was interesting was Stein calling Palin an "opportunist"

Ross Perot, an early supporter of John McCain (during his P.O.W. captiviity and immediately on his return) called him the same thing.. "an opportunist".

John McCain said in Sarah Palin he found a "soul mate" - somene else who would do anything to get ahead. Maybe Mr. McCain should also keep an eye on his back (but then opportunists usually know how ...)

Unless America can do something about the Republicans being afraid of their own shadows, they will continue to act like paranoid sociopaths!

Let's get the facts straight about this so-called "experience" of Palin. Wasilla is a town of about 7,500 people, and 1/3rd of them are under 18 years old. That means that Hockey Puck Palin's experience consisted of mayor of a town with an adult population of only 5,000 people. It would be like being elected president of the student council of most high schools. Next step - the Vice Presidency of the United States and if McBush's health fails - President. Yea Sarah - you go girl.

In the same way Republicans put Palin out there as experienced in foreign policy because her state of Alaska is close to Russia, they can also contend that Palin is equally knowledgeable in dealing with this economic crisis because she lives close to a bank...

So I ask Gov. Palin, just how will you get us out of this financial conundrum? The world awaits your infinate brilliance...

GOP and their method of campaigning. Smear, lie, smear and lie.
Nothing matters except the bottomline.

And we're surprised? Old boy McCain had better watch his back. There is something sick about this woman. That kind of unbridled ambition should be the cause of worry for every American. All hat and no moose...where have we seen that before?

Ambition should be a problem or a dirty word. The problem is her motivation (self serving) and her methods (dirty is an understatement).

I find it increasingly easy for me to believe negative things about Governor Palin. I know that from the start I have had the motivation to believe negative things about her-- I never thought she was a good choice, and I would like to be vindicated-- but I have tried to maintain my objectivity. I just wish she, and those who would support her, would help me out a little. I haven't seen much persuasive substance.

When McCain and Palin lose in Novemebr, arn't they up for reelection in '10?
We might be rid of them FOR GOOD.....unless they recall her in Alaska after
all the exposure to who she really is?

After Nov., I never want to hear the words Bush, Cheney, Rumsfield, Palin,
Delay, Craig....and so many others EVER AGAIN.

After the election, I would hope that Mac's doctors are in attendance around the clock. I do not wish mac any harm, but I see him being so despondent that it will affect his health. He will not recover from this election.

I only hope that P*L goes home and gets impeached.

Mac & she have done enough harm to this country already.

This story is just not true at all! It is just another example of how Democrats want to tear Sarah Palin down because she is a decent person who has morals. Here are the facts! http://www.afa.net/08VG/index.html

"I think we can provide common-sense approaches to the issue of illegal guns that are ending up on the streets. We can make sure that criminals don't have guns in their hands. We can make certain that those who are mentally deranged are not getting a hold of handguns. We can trace guns that have been used in crimes to unscrupulous gun dealers that may be selling to straw purchasers and dumping them on the streets."
So is that your basis for saying Obama want to ban handguns?

John McCain will address the fact that we have a large number undocumented individuals living in the United States and working in our economy:
* All undocumented individuals will be required to enroll in a program to resolve their status.
* This program will use background checks to identify criminal aliens for prosecution and deportation.
o Assure that the remaining undocumented immigrants learn English, pay back taxes and fines, and pass a citizenship course as part of a path to legal status.

So John McCain is still endorsing Amnesty? Did they forget to tell you that?
Its too bad your getting your information from a group that is so partisan. If you have any other questions, let me know :) As I have time I will be glad to give you more objective information.

Morals?

Surely you jest.

Oh, I forgot, you get paid for each comment.

Well, if the AFA (aka the American Family Associate) says so, it's got to be true because people with morals never lie.

The fact that you're referencing a religious 501(c)(3) organization that basically blames Hollywood for our corrupt society says it all. Take your head out of the sand and be serious.

We've been seeing strange kind of Christians in the White House for the last eight years. Palin would fit right in ... but thankfully, she won't get a chance to.

Palin is all hat and no cattle. You can see just how mean, dishonest, and power hungry she is, just like someone from the Bush administration. Still, the mindless in this country want this pantsuit. Looks like they did not learn their lesson after they voted twice for GWB. They are too dense to see the similarities and the danger.
