Fox News Fires Producer Who Chyroned Michelle Obama Barack's "Baby Mama"

Fox News has fired Jessica Herzberg, the freelance producer responsible for the "Obama's baby mama" chyron from June, according to Chickaboomer.

In June, during a segment on Fox News' "America's Election HQ," a chyron read: "Outraged Liberals: Stop Picking On Obama's Baby Mama!"

At the time, Fox News' Senior Vice President of Programming, Bill Shine, acknowledged Herzberg's poor judgment, saying, "A producer on the program exercised poor judgment in using this chyron during the segment."

Herzberg has reportedly moved on to CNBC.

Did anyone at the Huffington Post check this story out? It's 100% untrue. Herzberg was a freelance Senior Producer. Senior Producers don't write banners. Writers do. Also, Senior Producers don't call up banners, that's done by a director or a graphics or deco op. And most important, Herzberg left Fox, she was not fired. One phone call by the people at the Huffington Post would have cleared this up. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

I wrote a letter to the FCC about this stupid Faux trick and encouraged others to do the same. I have no way of knowing if there is a connect between my complaint and this firing, but I like to imagine there was... All I know for certain is that the FCC sent me a letter stating they were looking into the complaint against Faux.

The airwaves are held in trust for the American people and Faux and other news organizations only hold a license to broadcast. If these so-called news groups abuse their licenses enough and we complain enough, the FCC might just pull those licenses. I reminded the FCC of this in my letter and I hope this Faux firing will encourage you to use your power in the same way when you see similar abuses.

fox news is for the damaged ones out there that need an "Enemy" to hate because they are not smart or good enough as people to see that they themselves are the problem.

They turn into the bad guys just by believing in the poison spewed by that network. They are too "proud" to admit what a monumental mistake their path has been, so they deflect it onto everyone else, like little children do.

Barack and Michelle Obama's children were conceived and born in wedlock, not the result of a shotgun wedding, which will be the plight of Sarah Palin's (the beloved darling of the rightwing) 17 year old daughter. It's abundantly clear to any impartial and discerning observer that Barack and Michelle are deeply in love with each other and that there's not a whiff of scandal surrounding their personal relationship with each other. To bigots like those who own and run Fox this is hard to stomach when one takes an objective look at their own sordid lives. And in doing so one doesn't even have to embroil Rupert Murdoch, Fox's owner, to make one's point. John McCain is another classic example of the pot calling the kettle black. The tone of the entire channel sets the precedent for this kind of behavior. If there was any sincerity to this, they'd fire some of the bigger names on the channel.
