Jack Cafferty has a reasonable question: why doesn't John McCain want to debate?
What's he afraid of? What's wrong with talking about the issues? Why not outline his plans?
Doesn't America deserve to know what he'd be like as president?

This was a dumb mistake by McCain. Not a bluff as the article suggests - just a simple, old fashioned mistake.
Even if McCain debates from Washington via satellite, that's still going into the debate he didn't want to have. He implies there are far more important things to be worried about, so if he turns up... well shouldn't he be doing those far more important things? Simply by turning up he delivers a mixed message about what is important to him.
If McCain doesn't turn up on the other hand, it'll look to the whole world like he was plain scared.
Either way, by publicly asking for a suspension of campaigning and for a delay in the debates, McCain just loaded a gun took careful aim, shot both his own feet and then placed both feet in his mouth.
McCain is amazingly bad at campaigning. Is there anything this man will not do... to lose this election?

I'm pretty sure that Cafferty is the only legit journalist (can you even call them that anymore?) on CNN. Granted, I don't watch that channel much anymore, but when I did, he seemed like the only one there who MIGHT have his head screwed on the right way...
There is also Campbell Brown.
She did two good pieces of journalism recently.
Obama is campaigning and working on the bailout. He is meeting the President today. Why can't John debate. It makes no sense. He isn't even on the banking committee......this is laughable
Campbell Brown seems to also have a bigger pair than any of the "guys" on CNN. Challenging Tucker Bounds, and also her shout out to McCain to "free sarah palin" LOL ... but yeah, Blitzer is a wuss, Dobbs is a class A Xenophobe and Anderson Cooper? well, the less said the better!

OK, I want the media to follow McSame around the same way they follow some of these pop stars. If Mc Same sez he's "working on the bailout" I wanna know everyplace he goes and everything he does DURING THE TIME he's supposed to be on stage with Obama.
If McSame is begging off something like this, everyone has an absolute right to know what McSame is doing INSTEAD of talking to "his" Nation in trouble. McSame has a chance to stand up and talk directly to the American people who are angry, scared, and at their wits end.
What EXACTLY is it he proclaims to be doing that is more important than ACTING LIKE A PRESIDENT, standing up along with the rest of us IN PUBLIC and facing a national issue WHICH HIS GOVERNMENT created?
If McSame isn't pulling a TELEVISED (C-Span) All-Nighter with the rest of the Senate, he has no bussiness whatsoever begging off of this date with history. Obama is right, and that's what McSame cannot stand.
That's another thing. If this is such a red-light emergency, why is it that the Village Idiot hasn't called the CONGRESS back into session? Not just some of them. The entire body of the House and the Senate? Could it be that the last thing he and McSame want is real democracy around their necks as they cut a "backroom" deal to give a bunch of rich failures every dime the USA cannot spare?

The DEBATE should go forward - with or without Mcain. If he shows up - fine. If not, prepare to take Obama through all of the issues from Foreign to Domestic Policy. PERIOD
This whole issue is insanity. Pure and simple - McCain has NEVER been held to any accountability about anything he says. He has always stuck his finger in his nose to the MSM whenever he felt like it and they came crawling around "Oh Please Senator" just give us a sound bite! The MSM

Never in the History of communication has the MSM so divorced itself from reality by never covering stories. As for McCain - he is just plain scary. Of course the fact that the debate is supposed to be about foreign policy and not the economy seems to have slipped everyones mind. What is the big deal with doing it on next Monday or thursday? It gives Obama more time for "debate camp" in Florida while he avoids Washington.

The big deal is it is not that easy to move. It has all reay cost something like 5million dollars. That is money down the drain. Would you like to pay for the cost of setting up and tearing down.
