WASHINGTON — First lady Laura Bush said Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin lacks sufficient foreign policy experience but is a very quick study.

In an interview Wednesday with CNN, the first lady remarked that it's fortunate that Republican presidential nominee John McCain has foreign policy experience himself.

Still, Mrs. Bush said she has a lot of confidence in Palin. She said the Alaska governor has a lot of good common sense, and the first lady added that she is thrilled to have a chance to vote for Palin on the GOP ticket.

Mrs. Bush also said she thinks Palin is being treated unfairly because she is a woman. That, the first lady said, is to be expected.

Laura, I can't trust you. You are married to the worst President in the history of the US. His policies have bankrupted the US and still doesn't have a clue.

Let's be fair...she may have married him, but I bet she didn't vote for him twice.

Yeah - enough "common sense" to shoot animals from airplanes and boldly claim in her very first interview that "we must never blink" when going to war...

Laura --just what makes you think you are qualified to judge who has common sense when it comes to leading this country??

Well, I do declayah. I think Laura must be having some chemical flashbacks from the 60's that led her to say such a snippy little ol' thing like that!

Sarah Palin got her first passport in 2006.

Maybe she is channeling Tammy Fay Baker? Actually she might have been a better choice were she still with us.

Not only does Obama have no foreign policy experience, he barely has any work experience.

Was he really the most qualified candidate the Democrats could haul out?

He is ready and willing to take questions and Herself is not. That speaks volumes. But she CAN see Russia from her house!

You wish! He's worked more than Palin. Let's see:

Community Organizer (and Yes! it's a job!)
President of Harvard Law Review (Again, work!)
Constiutional Law professor
Lawyer
State Senator (7 years)
U.S. Senator (4 years)

Don't be scurrred!! But you better come with more than that if you want to play with the big boys/girls on this site!! Booyaa!!

I'll take the "he barely has work experience" candidate over a candidate that has no clue who, or what he stands for or where he is half the time. I'll take an intelligent, insightful, brilliant man over a man who is only out for his own interests. I'll take the person who has made a life of helping others and not steam rolling the American people for 26 yrs. With that said, "Obama/Biden 08!"

At least he knew the difference between Shia and Sunnis and saw that the Iraq war would be a mistake long before McCain even voted for it. I'm not sure if Palin at the time even new what Iraq is. But one thing I know is that Palin makes Bush look like a genius in foreign policy

This coming from a woman who thinks her husband has been a great President.

Laura Bush= irrelevance. Bad taste in men. Bad taste in politicians.

Laura Bush also thinks that she and Dubyah own a ranch when, in reality, all they own is some land that would be suitable for a ranch. She didn't just drink the kool-aid, she helped mix it.

Not only does she lack foreign policy experience -how often has she even been to the lower 48?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 07:44 PM on 09/24/2008

I think she got her passport last year so she could visit the lower 48, at least she probably thought that's what her shiny new passport was for.

"[Palin] has a lot of good common sense." Are you kidding me? Everybody has common sense, that's why it's common! Common sense tells you to seek shelter when it starts to rain. Or, as race track enthusiast W.C. Fields once put it: "Common sense is the good sense a horse has not to bet on humans."

When you're selecting a leader you're not looking for someone that's particularly good at predicting the weather, no, you're looking for someone with extraordinary leadership abilities - someone with above average intelligence, for goodness sake.

"Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that. " -- George Carlin

Let's see. They said O lacked foreign policy experience, so he took a world wide tour. Thank goodness he did, because HE wants to be president.

McCain didn't know who the PM of Spain (one of our allies) is! And would rather start a war rather than admit his mistakes. I'd pick intelligence over senility and ignorance any day!

Laura refuses to make an A r s e of herself by repeating the GOP foreign policy experience measurement parameter.I can see Russia from my Alaska.
