McCain Camp Wants To Postpone VP Debate

John McCain's campaign now wants to suspend the VP debate?

CNN's Dana Bash reports that McCain officials are "trying to negotiate with the Obama campaign and the presidential debate commission" to change next Thursday's planned vice presidential debate into a McCain-Obama affair. The VP debate would be postponed to another date.

"That is what they are proposing," Bash reported. "[McCain officials] understand very well that both the Obama campaign and the debate commission have no intention of delaying Friday's debate, but...if there is no bailout deal by Friday, McCain has no plan to go to debate."

The last statement made by the McCain camp at the end bothers me. Are they trying to say that if there is no resolution by tomorrow then he will adamantly refuse to attend the debate? Is that an underlying way of trying to pressure people to go along with the proposal? Well if you don't show up, Mr. McCain, then this debate will just be cancelled. It will not be postponed, it will not be rescheduled. You are the one who has been pushing for debates like a mad dog so it will be your lose.

Go to DC and figure out a solution to the problem you helped create. In reality, they really do not need you to figure out the solution. Bush and his cohorts already came up with their blank check policy that is being denied. The democrats will work out a compromise...thus, what are you going there to do exactly? oh ok

Think about this: If Obama appears alone tomorrow night, McCain will miss his opportunity to appear in a debate on his "strong suit," and if the Obama people stick to the rest of the planned debates, that will not be rescheduled. This is a HUGE gamble for McCain. It makes him look scared and weak and DESPERATE.

The delay tactics are simply because the Republicans know that the American people see through their BS and will be anxious to hear solutions. Sadly the Repbulicans have none. On top of that they have a VP candidate that is short on experience, short on substance and short on intellect. Their presidential candidate is old, stodgy, grumpy and out of touch. Wouldn't be the first time Sarah tried to bail out of a debate. According to the Anchorage newspaper, she tried to get a "fill in" for her first debate during her gubernatorial campaign.
