LINCOLN, NEB.-- A 100-year-old Nebraska journalist is slated to be honored as the country's oldest worker.

Mildred Heath of Overton is a reporter for the Beacon-Observer newspaper, a weekly publication based in Overton. Heath has been working at newspapers in the state for about 85 years.

Heath will receive the award from Experience Works, a national, nonprofit group that provides training and employment services for older workers.

Heath is expected to be introduced during a press conference on Wednesday at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C.

Previous winners of the Americaa's Oldest Workers award include a 101-year-old engineer, a 100-year-old business owner and a 103-year-old real estate developer.
