Palin Says Another Great Depression Is Possible

NEW YORK — Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin says the United States could be headed for another Great Depression if Congress doesn't act on the financial crisis.

Palin's comments came in an interview Wednesday with "CBS Evening News" anchor Katie Couric.

Asked whether there's a risk of another Great Depression if Congress doesn't approve a $700 billion bailout package, Palin said: "Unfortunately, that is the road that America may find itself on."

Palin said the answer to the financial crisis doesn't necessarily have to be the bailout plan that the Bush administration has proposed, but should be some form of bipartisan action to reform Wall Street.

Wow! what in earth shattering statement!! Thank God Palin is around! we would have never known that! So her brilliant mind thinks something should be done to fix Wall Street instead of what, Sarah, instead of sitting on the curve eating ice cream?!
It was better when they had her under glass and she was to be seen and not heard! Somebody pack her bags and send her back to Alaska where she can try to do a full days work as gov. of Alaska. Oh wait a minute, she can't even do that because she has been MIA from her Gov. job over 75% of the time since she was innaugurated 20 months ago! She has only been in the capital of AK conducting gov. business for 83 days, that is 3 months worth of work! that barely covers the probationary period for a new employee in most jobs! The takeaway point is that Palin isn't ready to lead. She doesn't have the years of experience or the education. A D in macroeconomics is an indicator. Obama has an Ivy League education. We have to assume Palin will be president for some period in the next four years if McCain is elected. Can we handle a president who is afraid of the media?

(My grandfather, who was 10 at the time, remembers watching it on his familys' 50-inch wall hanging plasma which was right next to the console-radio set - you know, the kind with vacuum tubes?
