One would think that some of John McCain's Republican colleagues might actually want to help him become president of these United States, but no: given the opportunity to ensure that the presidential candidate might be able to make a substantive contribution to bailout measure negotiations, McCain's friends in the Republican Party put their noses to the grindstone and worked out a deal without any Maverick input. Clearly Republican leaders are totally in the tank for Obama.

How painful was the thought of working alongside McCain? Over at Politico, they report that Barney Frank minced few words, saying: "Nobody mentioned him. The man's irrelevant to the whole process. No Republican mentioned his name. I'm the only one who raised his name. They winced when I did." Frank also compared McCain to a cartoon superhero:

"He's been irrelevant to the process. He remains to be," said Frank. "I was afraid that his dropping in here, like Andy Kaufman's Mighty Mouse -- 'here I am to save the day' -- I thought that would slow things down. I didn't see any sign of our Republican colleagues paying any attention to him whatsoever."

Hey, want to have some fun? Call a local McCain campaign office. They're all open, all over the country. Ask them, just as a curious voter, just how the campaign has been suspended.

They haven't suspended one single thing. Except, perhaps, reality.

Interesting idea. I called the headquarters in WI and they said "That's not what JM said..." I tried to read them the quote and they said it was a lie. Guess Republicans don't believe in reality.

As a matter of fact, if you call the department of law in Alaska, you get the McCain campaign. Are we seeing a coup?

Acting Presidential? Here's WHY John McCain does not DESERVE to be President. Secty. Paulson revealed the President's 3 page proposal on Friday last. Copies were sent to the two campaigns. On the following Tuesday (4 days later), McCain was forced to admit he still HADN'T READ the proposal, so couldn't comment on it. The VERY NEXT DAY, McCain backstabbed Obama, called a press conference and played the "crisis" card:" I have to get back to Washington. Debates be damned, the survival of the Union is at stake! And, oh yes, I have an idea, I think. And we've heard nothing from Sen. Obama, he's not fit to be President!." But what have we learned? During those days when McCain HADN'T EVEN READ the proposal, Obama and the Senate leadership had conversed on "numerous occasions" (Chris Dodd) about the Bush proposal. You didn't hear about it? Because Obama didnt call a press conference, didn't grandstand, didn't play POLITICSS, didn't smear McCAin...NO. So, who acted Presdiential, who DESERVES to be given credit for it? Not the guy who's now GRANDSTANDING, who's now HYPING what he ignored himself....McCain is a FRAUD. And this event absolutely proves it. Oh, and don't think for a moment that the McCain's Showboating wasn't totally choreographed by his handlers. Wake up, America!

Well, at least McCain's shortcomings have been noticed by his own fellows and his stunt to boast his own important self was not well received. Some Republicans really put their COUNTRY FIRST. At first, they thought that he is not bad but more and more McCain's behavior has been too reckless for the job he is seeking, let alone with an empty-headed Palin on his back, that is too much for a country in deep trouble right now. McCain thought he could pull the wool over people's eyes but he couldn't fool his fellows Republicans! In fact I saw this with my own eyes when I watched Palin selling herself at Media, PA, with a man, maybe the local member, behind on her left, clapping his hands tiredly. His body language seem to say "This is bullsh*t, what I am doing here?" Liebermann, on her right, smiled and clapped more enthusiastically.
McCAIN-PALIN: LUST FIRST, COUNTRY LAST, RECKLESS JUDGMENT, LIES, SECRECY, CRONYISM. OBAMA-BIDEN: INTEGRITY, KNOWLEDGE, JUDGMENT, BY PEOPLE & FOR PEOPLE.

''These two entities -- Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac -- are not facing any kind of financial crisis,'' said Representative Barney Frank of Massachusetts, the ranking Democrat on the Financial Services Committee. ''The more people exaggerate these problems, the more pressure there is on these companies, the less we will see in terms of affordable housing."

I am laughing at this blog today. All references to the biggest story, Bill Clinton's remarks, are wiped off the slate.

:)

Hilarious.

No, PumaAnn is a disgruntled Hillary supporter who's been throwing a hissy fit ever since Hillary lost. She a complete child who thinks this election is all about her.

You mean Willie's comments about Sarah Palin? He wants to take her on a caribou hunting trip! At times that man can't help but think from the belt down. As for that being the biggest story, ... if that is what you mean, ... I'd suggest the $ 700 Billion bailout is the "biggest story". Then again we almost always disagree, eh?

Let's see if this one makes it: What Clinton has said and is doing to undermine Obama's winning the election reminds me why I could hardly wait for his being out of office...and I am a full-blown, dyed in the wool Obama supporter. He is a ridiculous caricature of himself.

"to the biggest story"

Yeah, I know, it must be some anti-Clinton conspiracy that is shoving that story out so people can read about the biggest economic disaster since the Depression.

Please.

Barney Frank and Chris Dodd are two of the reasons the country is in this financial mess.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 05:37 PM on 09/25/2008

And the other reasons would be Phil Gramm, Ben Bernanke and Henry Paulson... the former being McCain's decade-long (and still current) economic advisor.

Love the way you rethuglicans just make stuff up with no basis in reality. Try John McCain (Keating 5), Phil Graham, Ronald Reagan, and the entire Republican laissez-faire, the market will take care of itself, deregulating, eff the little guy economic policy of the last 25 years. Boom.
