Craig Ferguson Knocks John McCain For Suspending Campaign, Compares Him To Castro, Napoleon, Caesar

I Like ItI Don’t Like It

Newly minted US citizen Craig Ferguson is outraged that John McCain would attempt to suspend the democratic process in the face of an economic crisis. In his monologue Wednesday night, Ferguson railed against McCain, saying:

"You can't suspend the democratic process because we're facing problems. At what point do you think, maybe we should suspend the election? We'll have the elections later. Some people have done that before: Castro did it, Napoleon did it, Julius Caesar did it. You can't do that. If you like it or not, the campaign is part of the democratic process....You wanna take your time off, that's fine, but you don't say we're suspending the campaign. You can't say that. It's the democratic process. We didn't suspend it for 9/11, we didn't suspend it for Pearl Harbor, we didn't suspend it for the Nazis, we didn't suspend it for the damn British. We don't do that in America!"

Hard to tell the difference between news and satirical comedy, isn't it?

I like this guy. I wish I could stay awake long enough to watch his show. It's amazing how the comedians cut threw the mess and get to the basic principle that America is missing...this is a democracy. Let the democratic process continue.

It takes a NEW citizen to tell the others what comes first.

You do NOT suspend DEMOCRACY to save the economy, or our security. Our Democracy IS what we are saving by way of our economy and our security. The process by which we opperate is IS the DEMOCRACY. EVERY little mechanism in a car, makes the car function. But the biggest parts of the car DO matter most! You do NOT throw out the car, in order to save the transmission, and expect it to still fully fuction as a car!

But he raised a very serious point: country first or democracy first? For McCain, apparently the slogan is real: if I deem it good for the country, democracy be damned. Country first.

Is this McCain's message? Would someone ask him? Oh, sorry, no questions in this campaign.

Our founders gave us the republic, the Constitution to protect democracy. Republicans have chosen to suspend the Constitution , the bail out without any rule of law is just another example .

Duhh....isn't that the Repubs message for anything?

There is something going on with MSM. Since early this morning, every time republicans are making a comment the audio is fine. When democrats are making comments, the audio is suddenly a problem. THIS HAPPENED ON MSNBC AND CNN. What is going on? I guess the repubs have hacked into the sound quality of satellite broadcasts. Bin Laden has won! He wanted to destroy our way of life and he has succeeded. When he bombed the WTC , we were operating with a surplus. Now that we have diverted our attention away from Bin Laden for the oil war, and allowed wall street to steal us blind, the final phase of his plan have come to fruition. We are in financial hell and when this theft bill passes, the abyss will be too deep for return to level ground. The crooks and Bin Laden will have won and there is no denying it. The lie that this is for the taxpayers is just a talking point without substance. A trillion dollar ripoff and the American people are simply standing by, waiting for there heads to fall off. Whatever happened to protest? The protecters of the constitution have shredded it and are acting like dictators.

So true. Ironic, we fight communism, China owns us, we tout free markets, then the government buys out for the benefit of corporate welfare, we fight the supposed terrorists, and the angry snap judgments of one man, his use of fear and his religious right wing followers, leads this country down the road to perdition.

This is NOT the first time McCain pulled his cancelling the debates stunt, he did it during the primaries when he was losing to Bush......It is a JOOKE for McCain, he was slipping in the polls, he didn't want all the new news about his campaign manager Rick Davis out there that proved McCain is a LIAR and they didn't want all of Barbie Palin's interview to be seen

His advisors told him to go to DC and look as if he has the intellect to save the nation.
John McCain is in the pocket of oil companies.
John McCain is in the pocket of insurance companies.
John McCain is in the pocket of pharmaceutical companies.
John McCain in the pocket of the mortgage companies.
John McCain in the pocket of the banking industry.
Here is a list of lobbyists and employees of major companies working in major positions in the McCain campaign. It will answer any questions you might have about the people who are advising and influencing him.

Is this the financial genius we are talking about?
The Chicago Tribune Interview 12/07: McCain said, "The issue of economics is something that I've really never understood as well as I should. I understand the basics, the fundamentals, the vision, all that kind of stuff,'' he said. "But I would like to have someone I'm close to that really is a good strong economist. As long as Alan Greenspan is around I would certainly use him for advice and counsel..."I've never been involved in Wall Street, I've never been involved in the financial stuff, the financial workings of the country, so I'd like to have somebody intimately familiar with it," he said of a potential vice presidential candidate, that’s Sarah Palin?

The guy doesn't know a thing, according to his own statement, about economics, yet, somehow, he thinks deregulation is the answer. Does he even know what deregulation entails? This is as stupid as stupid does. America, do not elect McCain. Don't allow this fox guarding our sheep pen.

McCain's campaign has been a sham from day 1. His trying to change the rules at this late stage
in the game is fooling no one, and his burgeoning dementia is becoming more obvious, every day.
It's entertaining to see a rat such as he squirm. McCain should take his and his Party's B.S. slogan-
America first- and shove it.
