If He Can Attack Obama, Why Can't He Debate Obama?

Apparently, even though John McCain doesn't want to debate Barack Obama, he doesn't have any problem attacking him -- even after suspending his presidential campaign.

Here's video from McCain's CBS News interview yesterday. He starts out by earnestly professing his desire suspend his campaign and skip the debates to do the country's business. But he just can't help himself. Within seconds, he's on the warpath, attacking everything in sight, including Barack Obama.

The last few days were the same as the last 8 years. I'm tired of the games! I will/can not take another 4 more years of it. I've always wanted Washington to (CHANGE)! (NOW is my chance to vote for (CHANGE), Barack Obama is a start. Now we the people need to help him, to help us!

McCain is afraid!!!!
Palin is giving better speeches than he is-
When McCain speaks, even his "trusty" GOP'ers
walk out on him.
All he sezs is "Friends" followed by a greasy smile, "I'll whip out my veto pen" "and veto it"-
Yeah, just like he vetoed the Keating 5-
McCain has a lot to answer for, and he made his job a lot harder for tonite.

McCain shot himself in the foot trying to look more patriotic when he looks less with his little stunts canceling Letterman (because he had to hurry back to Washington) and sit with Katie Couric instead, trying to ditch the campaign "to deal with the crisis," and of course finding a cheap excuse not to go to the debate and get Palin's postponed. He'll better show up or he'll look real weak and he better put on a good performance IF he shows up.

Mc Cain WILL show up.

There is no way he can duck this and give Obama free air time.

Bring in the dog, put out the cat, pop the corn, open wine, and let's cuddle up.

Gonna be a hot time tonight.

Oh, yeah and we'll watch the "debate" too.

Everyone gets earmarks for their state, McCain has many so does Palin, difference is McCain and Palin are running their campaign on cleaning up lobbyists and earmarks and yet they still take them, Obama is running his campaign on Change not cleaning up ear marks.

Earmarks account for only 1% of all federal spending. If you look at the big picture, 1% of trillions($) is a big number, but it's a LONG way from balancing the budget. Sure, it's a place to start cutting excessive spending, but McCain always makes such a huge deal about earmarks. I am so sick of hearing him talk about it!

well he says its "part of the problem" 1 percent is part. but hey whats 99 percent of a trillion right? come on....

So since Obama didn't agree to his townhall meetings he's repaying the favor by not showing up to the debate. I thought McCain was 72 not 7.

Should he change his slogan from Country First to "nana-nana-boo-boo"? Why does he keep bringing this up? Why is so flustered by Obama turning down his invitation? Get over it. You're a grown man, move on.

I would give you my comments on Palin but I'll have to get back to ya on that one, Katie.

McCain is schizophrenic.

Suspending a Campaign feels like quitting to me... So basically Obama is the last one standing? Obama wins!

Why does the new media let McCain get away with always injecting the town hall meetings into any answer? I would like to know what that has to do with anything and know one calls him on it? What is the point?

Exactly. I keep wondering what the point is of his raising this, this late, and realized during the Service Forum that he was making the point that the campaign has only gone negative because Obama hasn't agreed to town halls -- which is ludicrous: the reason McCain has had to resort to lying about Obama is Obama's fault. Why doesn't anyone in the media ask him to explain this absurd reasoning?

Donnybroke - since you seem to be "broke" you should be in favor of Mr. Obama (apparently you like the name Barry better but whatever)

I almost feel sorry for the old guy but I'd rather see him destroyed in a debate than have him sitting in the Oval Office. We all know what could happen there and I just can't take another four years of this idiocy we've been living through these last eight years. We need a vacation from these people.

You are (SO RIGHT)! ! !
Only I do not feel sorry for him. It was John McCain and Phil Gramm that got us into this mess by deregulating the Banking and Mortgage industry that led us here in the first place! You would think he would of learned from being one of th the Keating Five in the Savings and Loan Scandals that cost the taxpayers millions+++ then!

John McCain pulled out of a long-scheduled debate with George Bush in 2000 when McCain"s polls were down!
