Palin Calls For Surge In Afghanistan

Katie Couric: Why is it much more challenging there? Can you explain that?

Sarah Palin: The logistics that we are already suggesting here, not having enough troops in the area right now. The... things like the terrain even in Afghanistan and that border between Pakistan and Afghanistan, where, you know, we believe that-- Bin Laden is-- is hiding out right now and... and is still such a leader of this terrorist movement. There... there are many more challenges there. So, again, I believe that... a surge in Afghanistan also will lead us to victory there as it has proven to have done in Iraq. And as I say, Katie, that we cannot afford to retreat, to withdraw in Iraq. That's not gonna get us any better off in Afghanistan either. And as our leaders are telling us in our military, we do need to ramp it up in Afghanistan, counting on our friends and allies to assist with us there because these terrorists who hate America, they hate what we stand for with the... the freedoms, the democracy, the... the women's rights, the tolerance, they hate what it is that we represent and our allies, too, and our friends, what they represent. If we were... were to allow a stronghold to be captured by these terrorists then the world is in even greater peril than it is today. We cannot afford to lose in Afghanistan.

Wow, she was having trouble remembering her lines there. Listen, I am so tired of war, is that the only answer the Republicans have? And if I have to hear one more time that "they hate us for our freedom" I will throw up. They don't want our brand of freedom, the want to run their country under their religious laws and beliefs and I say let them. Who are we to push our Democracy on them. They know why we are in the Middle East and so do all Americans-OIL, OIL, OIL. If we can build a station in space we can make cars run on something cleaner then oil, can't we? We have so many things to repair in our own country, from our banking system to our hurricane ravaged southern coast, that it is impossible to help others in the world till we get ourselves back on track. Obviously, I am an Obama backer, we need to change so many things in our Nation and I believe he along with Biden and the fresh faces they will bring to the White House can head us in the right direction. For Sarah Palin, she should take a good look around her at the crumbling state we are in and maybe she would vote Obama in November.

She cannot put together a coherent string of sentences to any question that is asked of her. I saw her at a rally, and she tried to answer a question from the audience. Her answer made no sense at all. It was a series of disjointed sentences strung together, and all I could say was "Huh?"

Are we certain this woman has a college degree? Every college graduate I know can make him/herself understood much better that Sarah Palin can. She might be governor of Alaska, but I seriously doubt she would even be elected to student council at my old high school.

If anyone in America thinks other countries are going to pitch in and help the U.S. in Afghanistan then they better pay a little more attention to the credible world wide news medias.

Canada has set a firm date for withdrawl under public pressure, Spain has been snubbed and public pressure there will result in their withdrawl. To think other countries are going to keep sacrificing their troops while the U.S. keeps their troops in Iraq is ridiculous.
