Eye

AmericaBlog:

Joe and Rob both mentioned this to me in the past week, and now several readers have brought it up. I also just noticed that Atrios picked up on this too today. Something wrong, changed, droopy or puffy with McCain's left eye. Anybody else notice anything? I just searched Google a bit more and found references to his eye being droopy in April and May of this year as well. But whatever it is, it seems to be intermittent. (McCain has had 4 bouts of melanoma, and did in 2002 have a benign growth removed from under his left eye.)

I decided to take a look at McCain's Herbert Hoover Speech, as Rob calls the economic speech McCain gave last Friday in Wisconsin, and tried to see what it was that Rob was noticing wrong with McCain's left eye. It was only a 15 second video, so I pulled it up in my iMovie movie editor and checked out each frame (see a selection of still shots above). What you see is apparently McCain's left eye more closed than this right, and/or when he blinks, his left eye is lazier, or blinks slightly out of phase with his right. Either way, it does look like something's up. Perhaps McCain has always had a bad left eye, though it's odd that so many people just noticed this week.

You know, if (God forbid) McCain's health takes a serious turn for the worse next spring, we're all going to let out a big sigh of relief that he's in Sedona resting and Sarah Palin is back in Alaska doing whatever it is she does up there.

I thought he was either not well, or a tad drunk.

What about the people willing to vote for McCain? What's wrong with them?

My husband and I were talking about the eye thing, just before I saw this article. It's definitely real. I hope they start talking about this on the mainstream news.

I noticed that in his news conference yesterday and I'm glad others did also. This man is too old and to not have his medical records released! Why in the world would anyone vote for this train wreck? Unless they're racist - and in this country - in this century - that would be a shame!

I was wondering what was going on with him too and posted this yesterday

Is McCain having health problems? 2 weeks ago it looked like the side of his face where he had surgery was swollen and it looked like he had some type of ointment on the surgical scar. Cindy looked very frazzled and distant when last seen, last week, and BTW where has she been this week ? Today his face looked droopy and he looked like his heart wasn't really in it. He would be safe and out of the glare of the press by going back to his Congressional offices and just taking meetings. Time will tell.

I described the symptoms and history to my doctor with a generic description of the patient and asked him what first came to his mind for diagnosis.

"Tumor", he replied.

It's TOO much BOTOX - and one too many facelifts since the campaign began.
I've been saying it for months!

Judging by his latest actions, there is something vey very wrong with McCain. Something is wrong either mentally or physically. For a 72 year old man with a history of cancer this should not be taken lightly.

I guess I was there earlier than you. In 1965, dinky dau still meant "crazy." At least I thought that was what the Vietnamese kids meant when they pointed at me and said "you dinky dau." Or, maybe it meant "you're next."

A stroke. Strokes come in small sizes and big sizes.

He's probably had a small stroke causing his eye to droop. And that's why he is not going to the debates, the stress and his mind is fading......

And we have a airhead as a Vice Presidential candidates who is also suspending her debate because of a disasterous interview with Couric. But yet, she's going to do a rally in Philly......

People it doesn't get any worse than this. Of all the qualified, vetted, moderate Republicans he could have chosen, he did this. What does that tell you about his mental stability?

There have been some conservative journalists who have called this choice "an act of treason" by McCain.

This is required reading, HuffPosters. Clinical terms are clearly explained, along with information regarding frequency of of occurance, signs and symptoms and treatment options. The behavioral changes that McCain seems to exhibiting are uncannily similar to those listed in the article.
It's fascinating--and very scary. Xclnt link, PatriciaB!!
