Chris Matthews: Obama "Elite" For Wearing Sunglasses

Here's MSNBC's Chris Matthews, moments ago, suggesting Barack Obama is "elite" in part because Obama was wearing sunglasses:

Can Barack Obama, a man of elite education if not elite background, break into the middle class and talk regular? Can he talk to regular people in their kitchens tonight, in their living rooms?

Everybody thinks Barack is too cool. In other words, there he is with the shades, getting on the plane. A little bit too elegant, a little bit too proud of his own bearing. Is that a problem, that he's just too cool for words. In other words, elite.

Chris Matthews is a jacka*s. Bottom line. Last night he felt the need to "lecture" Obama on not being far enough ahead with the "middle class" vote. Forget the fact that Obama is leading.

Then he goes on to say Obama needs to stand in an unemployment line for 2 hours and listen to stories.

I thought -- wait - Obama's mother used foodstamps to help raise him and he started out as a community organizer helping people get job training and helped them to get jobs.

I can't get over the fact that the day Palin was brought on the scene Mathews turned on Barack and Michelle and started tagging them as "other" and was fawning over Palin/McCain.

In short, Chris Matthews can STHU.

Sunglasses protect your eyes and vision form hazardous radiation emitted by that big orange thing in the sky.
They also help prevent squinting to see, reducing the appearance of wrinkles around the eyes and face.
They also protect the eyes from flying debris, dust, and other things.
Everyone should wear them.
Of course, it's easier to pretend your too macho tough, then, when your vision fails, or you get poked in the eye, you can go to a doctor. Hope you've got lots of money.

This is from the King of hyperbole. Matthews is an elite in his own right which makes this the crack pot calling the kettle black. Matthews doesn't even have a rudimentry understanding of the issues let alone a basic grasp of the facts. As a result, he has to resort to trite commentary. I am sure there are photographs of McCain wearing shades. McCain is falling in the polls like a stream lined safe, so Matthews has to make it closer with nonsensical gobbledigook.

You know what I really hate, when politicians play "Dress UP" and pretend to be me. They have one of their staffers go buy a pair of new overalls and work boots and go and "Clear Brush" with a chainsaw. Don't placate me or think that I'm that stupid to believe that's what you actually do with your free time. God Bless Obama for thinking that highly of me and having the fortitude to be who he is.

That's what the Republican elite and the pundits can't see or figure. The demographics of America are changing so rapidly they dont know what is going on. More and more voters are thinking like you and not falling into the lockstep of old political stereotypes. It's a joke when McCain pulls out his "my opponent is the most Liberal Leftist in history" trump card. A lot of Americans are saying: And? The GOP said "trust me" and wanted to give away a Trillion $$$ of taxpayers money unencumbered and for the Wall Street speculators only. The American people get it.

I am right there with you, yellowdog, why the hell should Obama, or McCain for that matter, be anything other than who they are. I, like you, believe when they try too hard to be like me, it's insulting. And for the life of me, I cannot figure out why Obama should have to "dumb down" or apologize because he is intelligent and well groomed. "Elite" seems to now have nothing to do with background, upbringing, or personality. If you have an IQ over 110, then you are elite. That explains why Obama the former food stam recipient who pulled himself up from nothing is 'elite' and why multi-home, multi millionaire long time media celebrities like Matthews and McCain are not.

Chris Matthews wasn't merely a jerk for making this "elitist" comment, as he has done it before many times and each time it angers me more and more. No, it seems that lately Chris has been on a tangent about "race". You see, evidently Chris doesn't believe Obama is "black enough", be it in for whom he advocates (according to Chris, he doesn't discuss for the poor or the inner city African Americans enough) or in what he does (how dare he wear Sunglasses like the rest of the nation).

It makes me wonder just how that nice white Irish Catholic pundit, Chris Matthews, manages to justify his own unique brand of racial bias. Perhaps someone needs to ask Chris why he doesn't ask these questions of all African Americans or why he doesn't ask similarly skewed "Caucasian" based questions to those who have a fetish for blond comb overs or the poor tailoring of suits.

And more importantly, why is MSNBC putting up with such insane comparisons about issues that are hardly ever so black and white (excuse the obvious pun).
