Chris Matthews: Obama "Elite" For Wearing Sunglasses

Here's MSNBC's Chris Matthews, moments ago, suggesting Barack Obama is "elite" in part because Obama was wearing sunglasses:

Can Barack Obama, a man of elite education if not elite background, break into the middle class and talk regular? Can he talk to regular people in their kitchens tonight, in their living rooms?

Everybody thinks Barack is too cool. In other words, there he is with the shades, getting on the plane. A little bit too elegant, a little bit too proud of his own bearing. Is that a problem, that he's just too cool for words. In other words, elite.

I didn't hear the part about the sunglasses, but i did hear the reference about Obama talking regular... I do not have any problems understanding Senator Obama... Sarah Palin talks regular and it's been 3 days, and i still cannot understand what the heck she said to Katie Couric on any of the issues. When is having an education and being able to speak in a coherent fashion elitist...

I cannot belive that we are lead to belive that an old white millionaire who gets around by private jet, and can't even remember how many homes he owns, have more in common than a black man... can black people even get into some neighborhoods in america or country clubs..

Chris Mathews owes Senator Obama an apology for his on air "elite" remarks (Friday 9/26) about the Senator's wearing sunglasses while en-route to the debate in Miss Friday evening.

As a matter of FACT: *It is critical for ALL of us to wear sunglasses when outdoors in the sun, for UV protection for the eyes, and Senator McCain wears them Religiously. YOUR comments, and those made similarly on other networks, do a NATIONAL disservice to all Americans in this day and age, when too much exposure to UV rays can cause so much damage to the skin and EYES!

Shame on you Chris Mathews! Your comments were worthy of FOX news, NOT MSNBC .

Hey I am regular folk and Obama and I could converse and we would understand each other. What is this elite crap...Obama is dignified and has made something of himself...but I bet he has always carried himself well...SUNGLASSES??? Come on tweety...that is beyond the pale.
