I Like ItI Don’t Like It

John McCain lied right out of the gate during tonight's debate, claiming that he had warned us about the financial crisis that we are now facing. But in November, 2007 he admitted that he hadn't seen the mortgage crisis -- the root of today's financial crisis -- coming.

Here's video:

I received one of those absentee ballots. I thought because he had called me for several town hall meeting via the phone and to attend his stop in Lancaster. I did none of them. I thought he was appealing to me because I am a registered Independent. I am voting for Obama so I did not look at the thing I got other than to open it and toss it. But I guess I was wrong. He must have been trying to trick me cause I have donated to Obama. McDesperate!

Once again McCain lies. his expertise on foregin policy is gone. he quotes too many incrooect facts ie: Eisenhower resignation - never happened. To lie about Pakistan being a failed state will now have Pakistan more pissed at us! I would not trust this man with my cat!

I'm no fan of McCain but he never said Eisenhower resigned. He said Ike wrote two letters, one of which offered his resignation if D-DAY FAILED. It didn't, so it was never submitted. You need to improve your listening skills.

McCain claimed Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower had drafted a letter of resignation from the Army to be sent in case the 1944 D-Day landing at Normandy turned out to be a failure. Ike prepared a letter taking responsibility, but he didn’t mention resigning.

The above statement can be found at Fact Check.org

This article deals with all the misstatements uttered by both candidates.

The disdain McCain showed to Sen. Obama was a deciding factor for me. I don't want my President to show, by facial expression/body language, such disrespect to any head of any country, friend nor foe. It takes a cool head to handle running a country. McCain showed neither in this debate.

you missed the point. Eisenhower never wrote he planned to resign in the letter, just to take responsible for the invasion if it failed

Johnny and his cronies lie over and over again. I believe that the American people will see through that. While the debates are an important component to this election, Johnny will screw up day to day things and that is really what will do him in. Then of course, we have the next debate with Sarah. That can't go well for her as evidenced by her interviews recently.

A debate is a boxing match.

It's pretty obvious that Obama was weighing on McCain last night. Now that he knows how the guy deals with him, expect a lot more punches from Obama in round 2. Obama is a reflective thinker. Regardless of how many view him to be too professional and what have you, remember that he beat Hillary Clinton, who is a tougher opponent than McCain.

And Obama won round one.

Nixon lost to JFK despite the former's experience mantra. David Gergen said that McCain's performance last night is similar to how Nixon performed. Because the latter did not win the first debate against JFK, he lost the election.

I've heard pundits say that, but I can't find any academic evidence of it. Probably a political urban legend.

Anyway body language is a huge part of communication. Reagan beat Carter mostly with attitude and body language.

of course he lied. He wouldn't be McCain if he didn't.

But he messed up on Pakistan, couldn't even get the PM's name right.
And it is too bad that he viewed a coup against a democratically elected government as OK because Pakistan was a 'failed state.'

Wait till Obama hands McCain his head over his votes to let Bush use the excess from the Social Security Trust Fund to OFF SET THE TAX CUTS FOR THE WEALTHY !!!!!!!!

Thats right Bush uses the Social Security Funds of the poor and working people to offset his tax cuts for the wealthy.

Just like in Texas Bush used the excess in the Texas Teachers Retirement Fund to cover his tax cuts for businesses.

Then Enron, World Com and others hit and nearly bankruptied the Retirement System so the State of Texas has to come up with $ 600 million to keep the retirement fund afloat. Some Teachers now can;t even afford to retire after 35 years teaching.

Wine here also, Cabernet Sauvignon. McCain is just an angry old man. I can't believe he had the gall to bring out the Experience factor again when he chose a cheerleader to take over for him and lead our country.

Your wrong McCain didnt pick a "Cheerleader" for VP, he picked a "Stewardess" ok? Bill Maher said so lol.

I actually got up and grabbed some vodka when I heard McCain actually have the nerve to say that he opposed Bush's torture and extreme renditions (or the more politically correct Bushie term "advanced interrogation"). That was a boldfaced lie and a disgusting one at that.

McCain saw this trainwreck coming... so he hired all the corrupt financial lobbyists and failed corporate executives he could for his campaign. Not for their expertise, but just to keep them away from the industries they were destroying. Thank you John McCain... for taking one for the country.
