It certainly shows their priorities -- health care for poor children at a fraction of the price couldn't pass after months and month -- while $700 billion in millionaire relief gets passed in a week.

The Bush Administration has been like a teenager who stole the keys to the family car.....and then crashed it... and now is calling us to get him out of jail.

Bush engineers these disasters, this one through his policy of no regulation. Then he asks for unprecedented powers to respond. Why should we give unprecedented powers to the same people who got us into the mess? Bush is a fraud and he just mails it in. Actually, he has never made an effort at anything in his life and he certainly is not as president.

There must be something wrong with the landlines. I was speaking to my sister and our lines got crossed with someone from the GOP. Here's what we heard (no joke):

"We got to get her off the ticket"

"We may need to wait until the debate is over, if not we're done!"

"**** that! we need to get her off now. We need to figure how to do this with little damage to our ticket. Call Romney and tell him to get ready to stand in for Thursday's debate. We'll run it as her daughter is ill or something then we can roll her off the ticket on Friday evening"

"John really scre.wed us this time"

The Judgment of these two men running for President will be on display next Thursday. Let's see who has the BETTER judgment and see who FAILED their first test!

Cheney and Palin must be hiding out together, not that I'm complaining.

It reminds me of the non-biblical parable of the boy who cried wolf. Eventually the villagers were so pissed off by being call out out by him to rescue him and the sheep from the non-existent wolf that they stopped responding to his call when the wolf came. The difference here is that George has waited until the wolf has already eaten all the sheep _before_ calling us and we are still having trouble believing him. And he STILL wants us to pay him for watching the sheep even though they are all gone.

Thanks for the links for the story of "The Boy Who Cried Wolf". I hadn't heard that one before. I was just talking to some friends about it as well. They hadn't heard that story ever either, which is weird, because it just seems like the kind of non-biblical parable that surely every one would be told during their childhood starting in about 1673 until the present day.

Pick up an anthology of Aesops Fables at your local library. You'll love them all.

The problem with this scenario is, WE'RE the sheep and our Boy has been FEEDING the wolf. If that wolf has finally turned on us, our Boy gets to return to his "ranch" in Crawford while his Wolf eats us alive.

Worst. President. Ever.

And like timid little children, the Democratic Party is going to sell out America once again.

No. It is only the neo-liberal centrists that seem willing to follow the piper into the pit. The Democrat wing of the Democrat party along with the Republican wing of the Republican party both seem to be beginning to see what is waiting through the smoke. Neither want to allow more attempts to impose a Norquist vision of utopia upon us. We all want our industries, jobs, and quality of life back. The New Deal policies may not have been perfect, but the perfect has always been the enemy of the possible. A fair and just society with rule by law and an honored Constitution is good enough for me, and it is more than possible.

Here we go again, blaming the Democratic Party for the actions of the Republicans. Every Republican President since Richard Nixon has left this country worse off than they found it. Then they blame the mess on the Democrats. I can only hope that the American people have woken up and smelled the coffee this time around.

I guess Bush is longing for a McCain presidency so he can rid off his mark 'Worst president ever' from the history books...

Jon Stewart is absolutely brilliant in his analysis of whatever subject matter he takes on and, true to form, does his homework and subsequent presentation extremely well. I never miss any of his programmes, and those I can't watch live I record for later viewing. My question is: If he can assemble and disseminate the kind of hard hitting stuff he does so brilliantly, why can't the Democrats, instead of pussyfooting around Bush, the Republican Party, their neo-con surrogates both in and out of the media, and John McCain himself, do the same? John McCain says he's a maverick. That's like the son of a mafia boss who grew up in a household of crime deciding to become a police officer, but instead of first declaring his family background and convincingly proving that he's appalled by what his family has consistently done, he says nothing - yet wants to con those he's trying to impress that he is not like family members but a maverick.

Professor Dr. Stanley Collymore.

Well put. Reminds me of Al Gore meekly conceding the presidency to Bush in 2000. In national politics, it just isn't done to speak truth to power.

Stop complaining and help out would you? Everyone knows BarackObama.com do they not? We cannot always control corporate owned media. It's common sense why they want a repub to stay in power.

Everything else is ours to control.

Ahhh memories....like the memory I have of being kicked out of a mall by mall security around Halloween 2004 for wearing a shirt that said "Don't vote for that monster again".
Thinking back it warms my heart, it really does. I was only there shopping for a new pair of comfy loafers and the gourmet stylings of Panda Express. Give a girl a break!! Causing a riot indeed!
