I Like ItI Don’t Like It
Palin

Conservative columnist Kathleen Parker, admitting that until recently she was a vocal supporter of Sarah Palin, now says the vice presidential nominee should bow out:

Some of the passionately feminist critics of Palin who attacked her personally deserved some of the backlash they received. But circumstances have changed since Palin was introduced as just a hockey mom with lipstick -- what a difference a financial crisis makes -- and a more complicated picture has emerged.

As we've seen and heard more from John McCain's running mate, it is increasingly clear that Palin is a problem. Quick study or not, she doesn't know enough about economics and foreign policy to make Americans comfortable with a President Palin should conditions warrant her promotion.

Parker says her turnaround came from watching Palin in interview. Like other critics, she wasn't impressed:

Palin's recent interviews with Charles Gibson, Sean Hannity, and now Katie Couric have all revealed an attractive, earnest, confident candidate. Who Is Clearly Out Of Her League.

No one hates saying that more than I do. Like so many women, I've been pulling for Palin, wishing her the best, hoping she will perform brilliantly. I've also noticed that I watch her interviews with the held breath of an anxious parent, my finger poised over the mute button in case it gets too painful. Unfortunately, it often does. My cringe reflex is exhausted.

Palin filibusters. She repeats words, filling space with deadwood. Cut the verbiage and there's not much content there.

It's so bad, Parker says, that Palin should quit the race:

Only Palin can save McCain, her party, and the country she loves. She can bow out for personal reasons, perhaps because she wants to spend more time with her newborn. No one would criticize a mother who puts her family first.

Read the whole thing.

She can't bow out yet. She is McCain's anchor.

(As in dragging the bottom in a speedboat race!)

The always debonair and politically astute President Clinton warned, do not underestimate Sarah Palin, (is that possible?) and he added, she's hot, (sorry Paris, he can steal your lines, he's the Prez).

After the election and Obama is the winner, send Mrs Palin home with some used G.I.pontoons she can finally build her bridge to no where.

Palin has already screwed things up for herself when the McCain campaign took over Alaska, good luck getting your state back.

This woman simply must drop out of the campaign. I feel sorry for her going back to Alaska as tainted goods, but we can't risk even the slightest possiblity of a Palin presidency.

Why is it that people like or hate Obama for being too gentle,or too harsh? It s long past time to have a Gentleman President. So what is wrong with that? Yes, he is 'cool', and yes, he's educated. But who wants another cowboy in the White House? Enough with the riding roughshod over anyone in his way. Why not a President who can think, before he launches an attack? Why not someone who, at first glance, is a dandy? Dig in people. Being smart is what we want. Being cautious is what we expect. We've had eight years of cowboy politics, and look where we are. Take a hard look at who can bring us out of this. Take a hard look at who you think is the best. Vote your conscience, not your bigotry.

For the last 20 months I've seen Obama and that's just his laid back even temperament as a person. He's sorta like my husband, even keeled, even during emergencies. That's why Obama couldn't do nasty ads against McCain as people wanted him to. That is just NOT him.

Colin Powell is the same way. They called him ALL kinds of names because he didn't want to go to war in Iraq but wanted to continue diplomatic discussions. They said he was "soft". Powell had seen the ineptness during the Vietnam war and how some people like sending others off to war.
After Powell was the messenger for the Bush administration to go to war and later found out they had weak intelligene, Powell was again called names for telling lies to the public. He was only the messenger. He couldn't win for losing. I'm glad he left before Bush's second term.

Everyone, please read the full article by Kathleen Parker.

I take exception to her assertion that >>>>. Barack Obama faces the same problem with Biden.

Shut up about it! Leave her in place. Hide her from the media if you must, only let her talk at the Hannitys and Limbaugs. I mean for goodness sakes, she know more than Henry frikkin Kissinger. If she goes, she might be replaced by somebody who wants the 2nd spot, Hillary Clinton! Maybe that's been the plan, and why Bill is praising McCain. Too many good choices for #2 that could sway the election.

I would love to see her step down, but I think she is way too ambitious for that. I think she is absolutely deluded about her performance. I suspect she is not even bothering to look at any constructive criticisms about how she's done so far. She's suffering from pgs (pretty girl syndrome) where anyone who disagrees with her is just jealous because she's better looking. Well, this is the only stage in the world where we don't give a crap how you look, but we do care what you know and say.

Totally right. It has already been posted that she doesn't take critisim well, that she ignores any thoughts different than her own, and she is brutal on anyone who opposes her.

The thing is, she is just a hockey mom, nothing is wrong with that... But 99.99% of the hockey moms out there are not qualified to be vice president.. Plain and simple, now if the Republican base and her ardent supporters out there could only see that.... She may be like us, but we know or should know most of us are not ready to tackle the world's problems... She should know it too, JOHN McCAIN should have known it, where is this man's judgement? Do we want this guy in the Oval Office?

Just like being a POW doesn't qualify you to be president.
