I Like ItI Don’t Like It
Palin

Conservative columnist Kathleen Parker, admitting that until recently she was a vocal supporter of Sarah Palin, now says the vice presidential nominee should bow out:

Some of the passionately feminist critics of Palin who attacked her personally deserved some of the backlash they received. But circumstances have changed since Palin was introduced as just a hockey mom with lipstick -- what a difference a financial crisis makes -- and a more complicated picture has emerged.

As we've seen and heard more from John McCain's running mate, it is increasingly clear that Palin is a problem. Quick study or not, she doesn't know enough about economics and foreign policy to make Americans comfortable with a President Palin should conditions warrant her promotion.

Parker says her turnaround came from watching Palin in interview. Like other critics, she wasn't impressed:

Palin's recent interviews with Charles Gibson, Sean Hannity, and now Katie Couric have all revealed an attractive, earnest, confident candidate. Who Is Clearly Out Of Her League.

No one hates saying that more than I do. Like so many women, I've been pulling for Palin, wishing her the best, hoping she will perform brilliantly. I've also noticed that I watch her interviews with the held breath of an anxious parent, my finger poised over the mute button in case it gets too painful. Unfortunately, it often does. My cringe reflex is exhausted.

Palin filibusters. She repeats words, filling space with deadwood. Cut the verbiage and there's not much content there.

It's so bad, Parker says, that Palin should quit the race:

Only Palin can save McCain, her party, and the country she loves. She can bow out for personal reasons, perhaps because she wants to spend more time with her newborn. No one would criticize a mother who puts her family first.

Read the whole thing.

Hey Sidney! Why don't you dump Miss Moose for one closer to your age: Rep. Jean Schmidt of Ohio.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Or, how about a blow-dried airhead like Marcia Blackburn, Michele Bachman, or Katherine Harris?
Really, why stick with just one Republican nitwit, when there are so many to pick from?

Yeah, she knew all along she was going to be VP candidate and stole the baby as a campaign prop. Then she went on that plane with a pillow under her dress, squirting apple juice all over the place, going oops, owowowoh, pretending that labor was imminent. The wicked, wicked woman!

Even if she did bow out to try and save McCain's candidacy, I think it is too late for that. People will still fault him for choosing such an unqualified person in the first place. He has already made it obvious that his "Country First" motto is a joke, it is too late to change that.

I agree. It just shows that McCain didn't vet Palin. He barely knew her. He did it for political reasons not caring if she is qualified to run the country if something should happen to him.

I don't believe he chose her. I don't believe he chooses anything. He's being advised by the Rove bunch, and they are running the show. That's why his opinions are all over the place. They put a finger to the wind and tell him what to do, and he does it. The man is clearly miserable. Palin is clearly miserable. It's a total cluster****.

Don't you all realise that when she's in charge it'll be the end of Christmas? She'll be scanning the Alaskan skies for Putin's ugly head and accidentally shoot down Santa in a friendly fire accident. Then she'll gobble up all the reindeer to destroy the evidence!

Can somebody please explain to me why I cannot find one photo of Sarah Palin looking to be pregnant. I am sure as a big time govenor of a big time state, she would've made an a public appearance while pregnant. There is something very fishy about The First Family of Alaska.

There is one floating around of her five month's preggo with the one of the youngest -- and she's big as a house, as they say.

The problem is.....October 2, 2008. The question is..Will Sarah Palin suspend her campaign citing an urgent need to go to that remote island in Alaska and protect America from Russia invading our air space.

I doubt she will show up for the VP debate. The only legit reason would be one of her kids. Can't fault her for that.

Other than why she has waited til now to think about them. A special needs child like Trigg needs extra special care, 24/7 for the first three years of life, and it's not coming from her. Like Mcwhatever, she uses her values as a ladder, not a stage.

yes you can. When you are President or Vice-President the needs of the people and the country come before the needs of your family, no matter what. Just like soldiers stuck in Iraq while their homes were being destroyed. DUTY FIRST. And if she doesn't get that, that's just yet ANOTHER reason she is unqualified. (and I am a mom)

Hey Huffington Post . . . why have you removed all the video clips of Sarah Palin's interviews? Where are they hidden now?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 06:47 PM on 09/26/2008

I don't know what took Kathleen Parker so long to figure out that Palin was totally unqualified to be McCain's vp pick! I mean, really! Didn't she get it right from the start??? Parker was one of many who lost all sense and sensibility because Palin is a female.

I agree. McSamespeak for educated and intelligent is "elitist." All of the pundits talk about people voting for the candidate who looks like them, who is someone they can relate to. Well, call me crazy, but I sure want a president who is smarter than I am!

If you had told me there was a politician that would make George Bush sound like Mark Twain, Ronald Regan, or Bill Clinton I would have called you a liar amongst other things. Enter Sarah Palin. It actually hurt my head trying to figure out what lie it was she was trying to tell me.

The office of the President and Vice President should be taken seriously, especially based on the times we're living in.
We need leaders, not fluff. Not someone who you feel might pick you up some more votes because you're lagging behind.
I'm sure that for anyone, it would be an honor to be considered. But, if you really loved your country, you'd say thanks, but no thanks, because I just don't have the experience this job requires.
I have always been told that I should never promote one of my employees if I felt they were incapable of being set up for success and I have managed under that rule. Some of my employees will never be promoted because they just don't want to be or they don't have and never try to gain the experience it will take. Others will eventually be promoted, they just need more work.
Sarah Palin has proven in the few interviews that she's given, that she's not ready for this task. This is not a position for on-the-job training. This is a position someone needs to already be ready for.
We've seen what Bush has done to this country already and it's going to take more than someone who governs a state where Putin flies over once in a while. It's going to take someone who is ready to start on day one. Sarah Palin is not that person and she should do the right thing by her country and step down.
