LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Heeeere's Huckabee.

Former Republican presidential hopeful Mike Huckabee announced on his Web site that he has a new show debuting 8 p.m. EDT Saturday and Sunday on the Fox News Channel.

The show is simply titled "Huckabee," he said.

"I'm sure the name will make it easy for all of you to find it," Huckabee wrote on his political action committee's blog.

Fox News Channel spokesman Richard White said that Huckabee's new show would air on the channel but referred all questions about the show to Huckabee's agent.

Sarah Huckabee, the former Arkansas governor's daughter and head of his political action committee, said the same show will air both nights. She said his guest on the show will be Elisabeth Hasselbeck, the conservative co-host of ABC's "The View."

Huckabee, who dropped of the race for the Republican presidential nomination in March, joined Fox in June as a political commentator and has been working with the cable channel on a television show.

Huckabee left the presidential race after John McCain won enough delegates to secure the party's nomination. The ordained Baptist minister was a regular on late-night talk shows during his campaign.

Since exiting the race, Huckabee has started a political action committee to raise money for other Republicans and is writing a book about his failed presidential bid. That book is scheduled to be released in November.

I'm glad that Huckabee's got a new gig for himself. I could never vote for him because of his belief in Creationism and his anti-abortion viewpoint, but of all the Republican candidates this election year, only he and Ron Paul seemed to be genuinely good people interested in the welfare of others.

I gotta be honest, here. I'm a life-long Democrat who considers himself a real progressive. I wanted Obama to run for president the first time I heard him speak (2004 DNC convention).

But, I just love Mike Huckabee. (full disclosure, I am a retired bass player)

I don't know if it's 'cause I grew up watching Andy Griffith, or if it's because almost all of my family are truck driving Republicans from Washington state, but... there's just a real magnetic aspect to his personality. I wouldn't vote for him if you put a gun to my head, but... I feel bad admitting that. It's weird.

And I'm still surprised he didn't win the GOP nomination, or get picked for VP, either. I think he'd have put McCain in a better spot than he's in, now, with Palin.

I should have read this before I posted. I feel the same.

I sort of liked Huckabee, too, when he was on his book tour. But then after he starts running for president, he brings out all the usual neo-theocratic Republican nonsense.

Huckabee is thus just a southern Nixon.

And I am from Washington state and both my uncles are truck driving Republicans.

Huckabee Hound should call his show "American Cheese." Especially if he going to have airhead guests such as Hasselbeck.

Is Elisabeth bringing her recipe for Squirrel Pie?

Or does her benched football hubby the one who does the cooking?

True but we will not have to watch the show.

THANK GOODNESS FOR THE INTERNET.

We get to see the low highlights ( gaffes) of such shows right here.

It is a wonder why McCain didn't get Elizabeth Hasselbeck to be his running mate. She and Palin are cut from the same bolt of empty-headed polka dots. I mean, Elizabeth Hasselbeck's claim to fame was a survivor episode, wasn't it? Oh well, that qualifies her to have opinions about who should run the country and how it should be run. That qualifies her to decide public policy and to stick her religious beliefs into it. I guess that is what she and Huckabee have in common.

After the Couric interview I thought my God he could have gotten stupid Hasselbeck and she would have done better. Maybe Huckabee will take Hasselbeck to co-host his show and off of the VIEW--I can't stand her and her holier than though attitude. And by the way, by doing this show it will end any political aspirations for Huckabee; to bad because he seemed pretty decent compared to the other snakes in the Rep party.

I hope this means she will be off the View, she really slows down the pace of the View,
makes stupid comments, gets herself upset, everyone rallies around when she cries.
She is literally a drag.

It would be great the watch the View again, Barbara Whoppie and Joy are intelligent
women, who needs to be heard, real life with a humorous point for view.
I really hope their babysitting days for Lizzy are over. I love to see Rosie come back.

If they need a conservative point of view get an adult this time.

I think it's awesome that the presidential campaign is now a launching pad for your own show! McCain would make an awesome reality TV diva, making drama out of nothing. He's the new Amorosa! I say give all these fools a show, and let Obama quietly get on with the business of running this place.

I think FOX may be interested in hiring EH for a future show. This will give them a chance to see if viewers will tune in......I WON'T!

Nothing wrong with Huckabee. As long as he stays away from the presidency.

This is a better venue for him. Preachers like soft lies not big ones. I don't think he could have changed himself enough to be president.
