LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Heeeere's Huckabee.

Former Republican presidential hopeful Mike Huckabee announced on his Web site that he has a new show debuting 8 p.m. EDT Saturday and Sunday on the Fox News Channel.

The show is simply titled "Huckabee," he said.

"I'm sure the name will make it easy for all of you to find it," Huckabee wrote on his political action committee's blog.

Fox News Channel spokesman Richard White said that Huckabee's new show would air on the channel but referred all questions about the show to Huckabee's agent.

Sarah Huckabee, the former Arkansas governor's daughter and head of his political action committee, said the same show will air both nights. She said his guest on the show will be Elisabeth Hasselbeck, the conservative co-host of ABC's "The View."

Huckabee, who dropped of the race for the Republican presidential nomination in March, joined Fox in June as a political commentator and has been working with the cable channel on a television show.

Huckabee left the presidential race after John McCain won enough delegates to secure the party's nomination. The ordained Baptist minister was a regular on late-night talk shows during his campaign.

Since exiting the race, Huckabee has started a political action committee to raise money for other Republicans and is writing a book about his failed presidential bid. That book is scheduled to be released in November.

I though she was hot on Survivor. Since then, she's become uglier and uglier.

This is an interesting challenge for Huckabee. I have long considered him perhaps the sole proof that you could be not obnoxious, fairly honest, even cool and be a conservative Christian politician.

However, if he has his own show he is going to be under pressure - not only to talk a lot in public, but to be contreversial and make it interesting. Will he become like Rush Limbaugh and say crazy stuff to inflame the faithful and draw attention? Will he become like OReilly or Olberman or Lou Dobbs - completely in love with himself and "God's gift to a needy nation"?

I actually kind of like Huckabee.

I do, too... weird considering he is my ideological opposite. I am extremely liberal... His theocratic tendency scare the hell out of me. BUT he seems to genuinely believe what he says and he seems so kind to those he does not agree with... He actually defended both Obama and Reverend Wright during that whole media affair... saying, "If I had lived through the kind of prejudice and hatred that Reverend Wright experienced, I'd be pretty pissed off too... probably more so."

People really overreacted to his offhand joke about Obama ducking when someone dropped something back stage of an NRA meeting. He was sincerely apologetic afterward, called Obama to apologize, and said publicly many time over that it was the "stupidest thing he could of said." I really don't think he meant anything by it at all. Now that said, I can't imagine watching his show, but he has to be better than people like Hannity or O'reily...

I agree. His defense of Obama with the reverend Wright thing was the most standup thing I heard any of the candidates say from either party this year. And I saw him say it on more than one show.

I hope the topic of the first show is how it was God's will for Huckabee to be a loser in this election and how God obviously wants Obama to be president. Praise the Lord.

Please make sure everyone knows what will transpire this afternoon, before they play it out.

The deal is already in place. The GOP has no internal conflict. The deal was kil led only to make McCain appear as the man who resurrected it by bringing everyone to the table.

It's a sc@m. The deal will be announced today at 3pm, Dow will climb 500 or 600, and McCain will take credit just before going to the debate.

The whole thing is a set up.

PLEASE make sure everyone knows what to expect ahead of time.

This is important to expose the sc@m before they go through with it.

UPDATE: McCain agrees to go to the debate, AND there is "serious progress" on the package.

4 hours to the "deal passing" and counting.

It is just another FauxNews comedy show added to its fall lineup.

I'm just hoping the Mike Huckabee that shows up to his eponymous show is the Mike Huckabee that we've seen on Letterman, The Daily Show, Colbert Report, SNL, etc. If he's cool like that I'll switch my teevee dial thataways every so often. But if he does a self-righteous, Fox News zombie shtick...well, that's just too bad.

Why would anybody of sane mind would have Elizabeth Hasslebach on their talk show. I don't know who is the dumbist Elizabeth or Sarah Palin! Now how did to unintelligent women get to where they are today? Is it because of people like Mike Huckabee giving them credability?

Now how did to unintelligent women get to where they are today?

Let's see .... Elisabeth was a contestant on the first season of "Survivor." And Sarah hunts moose. As for who's the dumbist -- I suppose that would be a great reality show!!!

Who is the dumbest? The only way to find out is to have them debate on national TV. Good skit for SNL. By the way, has SNL ever done Hasselback? Come to think of it, Hasselback probably knows that Alaska doesn't BORDER Russia. There is water between.

Even though I almost completely disagree with him, I think Mike Huckabee is a class act. Even though he won't get my vote, he did earn my respect with his humor and honesty.

As the Germans would describe Hasselbeck: dumme blondine (stupid blonde).

Of course she'd support McCain and is a repub.

Obama/Biden '08/'12 = the SMART People's Choice!

Great that Huckabee is doing to McCain what Hillary and Bill are subtly trying to do to Obama, with less hope of success: help him lose this year to set them up for '12. Huckabee is fifty times better than McCain in every respect. I'm a fervent Obama guy, but Huckabee's a good fellow, not a narcissistic Top Gun egomaniac jerk like McCain.
