After John McCain tried to question Barack Obama's temperament, Obama fired back, raising McCain's "bomb, bomb Iran" moment and his threat of "extinction" for North Korea.

I didn't see the debate due to illness. Just seeing that clip, however, is chilling. While McCain was being rude and disrespectful, Obama was speaking clearly, thoughtfully and in a level-headed manner on a very serious subject.

If anyone is undecided after just seeing that clip, they aren't being honest with themselves about who would be the best leader of the free world.

so, johnny, you don't want to pursue al qaeda into pakistan? you don't want to kill those who killed 3000 on 9/11 and have been killing thousands of US Soldiers since? you want us as soldiers to keep absorbing the blows, time after time, chasing them to the border where they yell 'olly olly oxen free!' and then go into the mountains to regroup and resupply themselves? you want us to keep dying there?

whose side are you on, john? you're certainly not on the side of the US soldier.

Obama just won the military vote.

I loved that moment! That one was an upper cut to the jaw that hit right on the mark. You could see McCain get angry over being called on that! I also loved the portion when Obama hammered McCain with "you were wrong" when discussing Iraq. I also got really angry with McCain when he tried to sneak in his POW rhetoric, and ended the debate with "When I was in prison". We don't need to hear what happened forty years ago!

I was surprised when he said he was in prison, a POW camp is not a "prison". They are prisoners of war but they are in a "POW camp" not a prison. Must be a Freudian slip up for Mccain, he should be in prison for Keating 5.

McCain was pissed. He wanted his grandstand play of "suspending" his campaign and calling off the debate to work and it didn't. It made him look erratic and frankly idiotic. He tried to make himself look like a leader and ended up making Obama look like more of the leader. McCain said he wouldn't come unless a deal was made in the bailout and yet he was there with no deal......Winner: OBAMA

Is it just me or does McCain appear as egotistic as one George W. Bush? We have already had eight years of a guy that cannot accept viewpoints other than his own or admit when he was wrong. McCain could not even look at Obama and have a discussion. What does that say? McCain is also as vindictive as W. Does anyone really want that again? McCain jumps to a resolute decision without consideration, again, another trait of W. With all the similarities it should be obvious, McCain is not only aligned with W's failed policies, but he is esentially the same type of person.

I agree with pundits that Obama failed to put McCain away on the economy.

However, I think whatever candidate the viewer supported, they came away seeing that Obama is a smart guy and looked Presidential. McCain was feisty, but really didn't offer anything new.

My question is: when is the Obama campaign going to start running McCain's cover of Barbara Ann in a continuous loop?

That McCain SMILES as he sings this song is what really disturbs me. Chris Mathews called him on it.

You guys are ruining it for me. I work nights at the USPS (9:00 P.M.-06:30 A.M.) and I fell asleep just before the debate began. I recorded on my DVR though and will watch it tomorrow. Can't wait to see Obama roast his old rump!

Obama was presidential in every aspect. And here is my take on foreign policy between these two.
Since when did MCCain have the EXCLUSIVE abiltiy to protect the US? Because he was a solider?
Because he has been around 30 more yrs/
You know- if the US cant see by now- none of that gives MCCain the exclusive right as the only candidate on erht- he would have held it up to Hillary or ANY CANDIDATE running against him for that matter- and it just does NOT cut it any longer.

Barack Obama was clear, concise, serious, intelligent and intent -he had what it takes in foreign policy and the distict ability to protect America like id want to be protected at any level
IT IS REALLY TIME THAT WE GET THIS AND DUMP THIS IDEA THAT MCCAIN HOLDS ALL THE POWER, ALL THE KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY IN FOREIGN POLICY.

Anybody threatens the USA and Barrack would prove be a tough sonofabitch to mess with. So far Bush and the Republicans have done NOTHING significant about catching Bin Laden. Barrack would finish the job.

Oh yeah baby; that was a jaw clinching, molar grinding moment for Senator McTemperman. I loved it. Any political leader that jokes about bombing another country sould be automatically disqualified not only as a potential presidential candidate, but also as a mentor to our young.

Obama/Biden '08 Leadership we can be proud of.

McCain avoiding to look at Senator Obama is not out of disrespect, but Mccain being mad at what he is hearing and he is throwing a temper tantrum inside. Children do the same thing when they do something and you say " look at me" then they fold their arms and look the other way. Is this what Americans can look forward to if Mccain is President? If something is said or done that he doesn't like will he just pout and sit on his hands and let the country go to S***. Something to think about.

I'm sorry, I have to respectfully disagree with you mesmerize. It wasn't just the refusal to look at Obama. It was that patronizing, contemptuous and condenscending tone as well. He LOOKED DOWN at Obama as if he had no right to be in this debate and that McCain was tolerating him.

Senator McCain

Your postitions are diplomatically, and economically irresponsible, problems are not resolved by treating the symptoms, they are resolved by identifying and then treating the root cause. Your fundamental lack of understanding is detrimental to our country and to the world, it makes you unqualified to be President of the United States of America.

For more on my position and to digg it if you agree

PS I hate to post this to so many articles, but it is to pertinent to them to not post.

You're spot on - This country does have the time or money for McCain to live out his Teddy Roosevelt fantasy.

Yes! Obama landed that punch. Everyone but McCain realized it, too. McCain *still* thinks Spain is a Latin American country!
