It feels like it shouldn't be true, but it is: Ralph Nader is the super-special guest star in the latest Obama Girl video, improbably called "The Ralph Nader And Obama Girl Show." Yes. I know. How can you not click, right? Right. You won't be disappointed — unless, that is, you're expecting a long boring drone about the evils of corporations blah blah blah. This is not that Ralph Nader — this Ralph Nader is actually pretty damn funny, almost in a Don Knotts kind of way. Or maybe Norman Fell. (i.e. more Mr. Roper than Mr. Furley.)
The point is, you know times have changed when Ralph Nader stars in a web video spoof of a buddy TV show with Obama Girl. There are a few brief nods to policy — yes he's anti-corporate, and he wants in on the debate — but more than anything, it's just that it's Ralph Nader and Obama Girl. I am predicting that it will result in the most press attention since that blip when he announced.
Also, God is in the details here — my favorite part may be the Shepherd Fairey-esque poster of Nader. He does get full marks for having fun with this. Maybe this was secretly an audition for "30 Rock."
