Sarah Palin's Beauty Pageant Swimsuit Competition Footage (VIDEO)

Sarah Palin's 1984 beauty pageant swimsuit competition video has hit the web. An Alaskan has uploaded what he claims to be 100% real footage of Sarah Palin in a red tank suit in the 1984 Miss Alaska contest. She walks out, does a 360, walks further, turns around again, and then walks off.



You can hear the announcer (over a jazzy trumpet) introduce her, read her bio and compliment her leadership, saying:

"Sarah says she wants to prepare for a career in television broadcasting by majoring in telecommunications and political science. It is no wonder that she has also been recognized by 'Who's Who?' since she has displayed her leadership in all areas, from academics to student politics to athletics... Ladies and gentlemen, contestant no. 8, Sarah Heath."

The poster promises more, writing:

"The 100% legit footage of the 1984 Miss Alaska Pageant featuring Sarah Palin. If you think this clip is good, wait until you see her play her flute in the talent competition... ;)"

I'm a self-procl­aimed expert on certain aspects of beauty pageantry, because I actually read a book on the Miss America pageant, years ago. I remember one tidbit of sage advice, from a former winner, that Palin could very well be using in her bid for the presidency­, assuming all goes according to her plan.

Since judging goes on throughout the early stages of a beauty contest -- much like a presidenti­al election -- a former winner suggested that even in the social settings, such as mixer with the judges, if you have a fault, such as being an inch or two shorter than optimal, you should seek out the shortest, and ugliest fellow contestant you can find, and hang around with them ALL THE TIME. In comparison­, it makes you look good and the judges/vot­ers see that. Could that be what Sarah is doing? McCain said twice in his debate that he's no Miss Congeniali­ty so he makes Sarah look not only taller, and more beautiful, but also more congenial.

Talk about sexist. Beauty pageants are pathetic. Women as objects to be objectifie­d. There is no need for a brain or citical thinking if you have sex appeal. Not saying Palin has that either. What's next Playboy centerfold­? This is not a role-model for my daughter. Beauty Queen pagent contestant to VP candidate. One has to wonder... hmmmm... if people are willing to vote for anyone, I mean anyone at all instead of a Harvard educated African American and a Senator with extensive experience as the chair of the foreign relations committee? Beauty Pageants, Presidenti­al and Vice-Presi­dential candidacie­s, seem to hold a lot in common. We all vote for many different reasons.

i.e. How many times did Sarah turn around to show her butt?? It obviously must have been a heavy weighting factor for the judges.

Fast forward to today... ...the GOP is spending an inordinate amount of time flashing its butt to see if there are any takers. The response and sudden increase in ratings for them should speak for itself.

Well, she had a great set of legs and a # 1 behind. Not many women in Politics can say that. I really feel she should resign for the good of the Republican Party.
