How anyone can stay on the republican course dumbfounds me. Don't you people know that we are in a war basded on republican lies? Don't you care about all the people who have died for nothing but profits for haliburtin, lockheed, etc.? Republicans have banckrurpted the country, taken away civil liberites, and if you don't think Cheny made a profit on this war, do some checking on the internet. McCain was also involved in a scam, I think it was called the Keating Scandel. I'm not all gun-hoe for Obama either, but MY GOD, open your eyes. Go to www.zeitgeistmovie.com if you want to learn something. We need to watch out for our freedoms, republican or democrats.

Hello everyone,

I was undecided until today. It is clear to me Obama is the answer to our prayers. McCain did nothing but accuse Obama on multiple occasions and wonder around politics. McCain is a veteran hero, but that's as far as he goes. In several occasions McCain would bring up the same comments which I think eventually Obama gave up on trying to fight them.

My vote is for Obama/Bidden.

was undecided, and heard that McCain was more experienced.. wow, disappointed. Having studied policies and media tactics... the guy liberally uses symbols and patriotic imagery - pull on the heart strings, push the fear buttons, (yes yes military military, so? Just because he's military doesn't mean he makes a good president. The people in the military comes mostly from middle lower class anyways) - which is.. expected usage by all politicians and works on alot of people but would he just get to the point and say something else? In the first question, he repeatedly returns to the personal attacks, stop being petite.
"loan eligibility"? No.. I want cheaper grad loans, not just being able to borrow MORE money.
I do agree with him on the Head Start- reforming and refund (as long as he really means, making it more effective, not just decrease funding)
Oh, when I heard the actual 8000 number on the healthcare, gross... ,just plain horrible. Fact is, with economy like it is, my healthcare plan is going to be alot more than that, $8000 that don't change or increase or be flexible is going to be pennies on the dime for what I'd have to pay.

as for Obama - I honestly don't know the guy very well, it's weird that he smiles when he gets attacked and doesn't stop McCain. He can be clearer on some of his points, but I'm still neutral on this guy.

Mccain is completely manipulating the Latin American Issues. First of all, He said Colombia is helping to stop drungs from coming into the US young population, This is a complete lie. First of all Colombia under Bush plan colombia has double its Cocaine production and is now # 1 producer and exporter of cocaine to the US population. Colombia has next to Mexico the highest levels of attacks against labor leaders and journalist. over 125 journalist killed under Uribe's administration. Mccain also lie about President Chavez supporting a terrorist organization (Farc-ep), Chavez negotiated under Uribe.s request a hostage release as a mediator. He does not support the FARC financially, On the other hand the US is the only country in the world labeling FARC as a terrosist organization, all Latin American countries recognized Farc as a resistance movement in Colombias internal war for the last 40 years. and my final point in this subject is that they are both wrong if they can just stop buying Venezuelan or middle eastern oil, they are lying, There is not enough oil in the US to meet the over usage of the population of the worlds natural non-renewal resources, US consumisn is just over the top. and world oil supplies are known and certified, if the US use their oil to cover 100% of its needs it would run out in under 50 years, that is why you import 69.9 percent of oil from OPEP countries.

Unbelievable people are being led by the proverbial nose ring by the rhetoric that Obama is spewing. Can't see he is a Marxist? He went to and raised his children in that church listening to all that hate and anti-Americanism. If he didn't stand up for America and the average American then, he sure isn't going to now. And who still believes him? He couldn't even get a job in the FBI with his background associations. He is the one bringing up race as an issue. It's not race, it's having the country ran by some one leaning so far left he's bound to fall soon! Only thing people are hearing is they are going to be getting freebies, thinking they are entitled. What do you think about redistribution of wealth? If it were you and you had worked hard to get where you were and then the government decided to tax more than 50% to redistribute. Is that fair? You ever look at socialized medicine? Not a pretty sight. McCain is no poster child for the Presidency, but at least he not a commie socialist with sentiments toward the Middle East. Jesse Jackson recently said that when Obama is President the United States will no longer be ran by the Zionists. This guy has an agenda. I could go on, but no one is listening. Americans are zombies. Woe to anyone who can't see political correctness is a crock and wants their second amendment rights, etc., etc.

When it comes down to it, why do either one of these guys want to take on the presidency with the problems that come with it at this point?

Answer: The one who truly cares about the country. From what I have heard in this debate, John McCain has a little more passion about the job.

McCain is right. Obama has said a lot of things that has been changed and the importance of that is that these things were crucial to representing his stand point on many issues. He seems flaky.

Obama knows nothing but what the Dem's have told him about foreign policy. He would lead a nation horribly through any attack/confrontation we would go through.

oops, i didn't mean to respond exclusively to that random person. apologies.

oh god i feel like mccain is winning. hardcore and to the max. obama is stumbling over words and not acting as confident as he should. the passion that he usually exudes is not as evident tonight as it has been. i feel really really nervous...

McCain looked and acted like Nikita Khrushchev at the UN, banging his black shoe on the table to get the most attention. He also lied quite liberally. On almost every possible occassion. He has an abysmal record supporting veterans - past or current. The oddest part, though, was when he tried to look sensitive. Between Sarah Palin's interviews, and whatever advice they gave McCain, it's time for Charlie Black to slip back to Burson Marsteller and the Moonies.

Remember people, it's not the pundits or political junkies opinions that matter, it's the undecided voter perceptions that count in all this. So the question is, how does each candidate's performance stack up with the voters. Who came across as more presidential. Don't let your bias' influence your decision on who won. How did the public look at it.

While I think that Obama came across as very presidential, Obama had his failings. Quit with the "you are right" comments and cut the damn fool off rather than raising your hand in objection or smiling.

McCain lied his way through the entire debate. He has a 90% voting record with Bush. He has always supported corporate handouts. We are winning nothing in Iraq - the Iraqi economy seems to be doing better than our's. How about this, John - maybe they can hand us over their surplus? My favorite moment: the John McCain lecture on prudence - from the man who sang Bomb, Bomb, Bomb Iran, who suggested we could knock off an entire country with cigarettes - and from a man who made ugly jokes about a very young girl - who happened to be the President's daughter. Oh, and I forgot the suggestion that his wife take part in a topless contest.

The response here though, was interesting. Lots of hand-wringing. CNN posts are almost all pro-Obama. What's up? Trolls?

For a supposed strength McCain could not articulate any one stance of foreign leadership outside of the surge. Why is that?

McCain on all cut shots is looking down or up into the lights, but not at Barrack. Cut shots of Obama show him looking down, paying attention to the moderator or looking at John McCain.

McCain should've won this debate by all rights and he handed it to Barrack on a silver platter.

Lastly - not sure why the number of times Obama agreed with McCain is an issue - it means someone can see both sides of an issue - instead of trying to score points for his own gain.

Obama did well. He's stayed calm and on message. McCain told war stories.

McCain told war stories , lies and BS. Obama had to spend most of his time defending against McSame's lies...

Go look at the Washington Post's Fact Checker. See how many times McCain mis represented "facts" and also misquoted Obama.
