Fey did a great comedic job but, overall, Palin's original interview was far more ridiculous. Ironic that one of Fey's funniest lines WAS a direct quote of Palin.
Tina should follow her around to all of her campaign stops and cause Palin's gullible supporters to suffer psychotic breaks.
Tina still has a little work to do on this character.
I agree; Fey is a lot more articulate, even when trying to mime Palin. The key, folks, is to NOT try and make sense of Palin's nonsensical answers. You'll destroy neurons trying to follow her crazy logic and nonsequiturs. Sit back and enjoy Thursday night. Unless she has had a brain chip inserted between the Couric interview and the debate, you can expect more of the same UNLESS she is REALLY, REALLY GOOD at memorizing all the answers. You can be sure the Repugnicans surrounding McCain/Bush are working overtime to get all the statements drilled into her "airspace". If she strays too far from the topic at hand (i.e. gets asked a question she didn't prep for), it'll be "Couric 3".

My goodness Palin is just AWFUL. I've seen Grade school students who are more articulate. She is just terrible and inchoherent the expressions on Katies face says it all like WTF are you trying to say. WTH did she say that Americans are going to look at the candidates records. Um no and if they did McCain will LOSE on that score too. I shrudder to think this woman could get anwhere near the white house. If she does this country is OVER there is no if's ands or but's about it.
She is like a freaking nightmare you worse nightmare playing out in front of you. Folks need to come forward and say it straight she is terrible she shouldnt even be the mayor of Wasilia much less the VP of the US.

Got to give it to Katie though. How she kept a straight face I will never know. She always kept a very magnanimous expression. I know the camera and lighting people were dying listening to this.
Katie has redeemed herself with me. She did a great job. Professional and objective.
Palin makes her own self-disembowelment without any help necessary.

I thought SNL missed a real opportunity, there. They could have used Palin's exact verbiage (ahem) in the skit and it would have been just as funny -- and exponentially more damning. (Though they did seem to hew to Palin's words pretty closely, at points.)
Palin is incoherent because either:
1. She got into a Wasilla meth lab, or
2. She's just speaking in tongues.

Did anyone notice that Ms. Palin is also uninformed in terms of geography. During her incoherent ramblings regarding her foreign policy "experience", she claimed that Russian heads of state and diplomatic missions first enter US airspace via Alaska.
It would appear that Ms. Palin hasn't referenced a world map lately; in terms of distance and travel time, flights from Moscow, Russia to Washington, DC (or New York, NY) generally take the shorter East to West route (less than 10 hours travel time) rather than a West to East route (more than 24 hours travel time). So, generally speaking, when Mr.Putin enters the US, his first glimpse is not that of Alaska. She does even know that Moscow, Russia is closer to Washington DC than it is to any part of Alaska!
All Palin knows of World Events comes from "The Weekly Reader", distributed in elementary schools.
Yeah, except that's not the hypothetical this nutcase was talking about. She was speaking as though she is the head of some great US defense force protecting us US Americans from incursions by Russian forces -- as though 'Red Dawn' was a documentary.
She literally spoke as though Russian jets regularly invade our airspace, and only she has been holding them back.
My brother is an American citizen in Moscow, never once has he been to Alaska either to or from the US.
And just because I can see into my neighbors windows from my dining room doesn't mean I know anything about them!
I'm not a Couric fan, but Couric sounded more qualified than Palin to be VP. [The expression on Couric's face is priceless!]
My sister and I refer to that as the "WTF" expression - everyone seems to get it when they listen to the gobbledygook coming out of Palin's mouth. Jack Cafferty had it too.

Palin lied about 'trade missions' with Russia!
In a Thursday interview with Katie Couric, Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin cited "trade missions" with Russia as her one tangible piece of foreign policy experience.
What trade missions?
Research doesn't show a single Alaska-Russia trade mission since former Democratic governor Tony Knowles visited Siberia in 1997, when Palin was running Wasilla, according to Salon.com.
