Reuters:

Republican White House hopeful John McCain, fresh from his first debate with Democratic rival Barack Obama in Mississippi, expressed regret on Saturday that his performance didn't win over all the pundits in the press.

"I was a little disappointed the media called it a tie but I think that means, when they call it a tie, that means we win," McCain said during a telephone call that was caught by cameras filming him at his campaign headquarters.

That debate was no tie. Obama won hands down. The majority has said, Obama won.

McCain is desperate or delusional. A tie does NOT mean a win! When does a tie EVER mean a win unless you're making up your own definitions?

“I was a little disappointed the media called it a tie but I think that means, when they call it a tie, that means we win."

This says all we need to know about McCain. He doesn't except the judgment of others. He sees no room for improvement in himself. He redefines reality. He's never wrong.

We've had enough personality disorder in our government. We need a stable man firmly rooted in reality and willing to listen to opinions that differ from his own. We need someone who is not mired in resentment and anger, who is not going to endanger our children for the sake of revenge or self-aggrandizement.

We need a statesman.

Wow. It sounds like McCain made a lot of people as angry as he was.

He should ask the President of Spain who is one of our Nato allies. Oh yeah, McCain is scared to talk to the President of Spain.

It's said, Foreign Policy is McCain "strong" point. If he couldn't win that debate, then its a loss for the McCain camp.

A tie is a win...hmm...ever heard of 'sudden death' or 'tiebreaker'? Guess he never watches any sports because he's too busy saving the world (in his mind only, of course.) This guy is so out-of-touch, it's scary...almost as scary as Mrs. Hockeypuck....good God...luckily they have her on her way to being sequestered with her brood on his Arizona compound for 'debate camp'.

If I, a middle-aged guy with a desk job, got into the ring with Wladimir Klitschko, and was standing at the end of 15 rounds, I won. If the heavyweight champ of the world can't take me out in the first :15 of the first round, I win.

For months the right has been spewing out that Obama is inexperienced, naive, "just" a community organizer, unaccomplished, blah, blah, blah.

If McCain is so great, and there's a question at the end as to who won, McCain lost really big to that major nothing (we're told) he was up against.

McCain can flash that crap-eating grin, and be as sarcastic as he wants, but he's way out of his league. Let him stick to running against W. That he can handle.

BTW, am hoping that when the agenda focuses on domestic and economic issues, the voting record of McCain wrt veterans benefits gets addressed. From everything I've read ,that last gasp effort at the end of the debate when he spoke of taking care of the veterans was pure Hollywood (and didn't allow Barack to "counterpoint" to it). There are quite a few vets who oppose McCain, a guy who doesn't back up his statements with his voting record...seems to me we've heard this "McCain refrain" before.

Yes, hatemongering is deathly irresponsible. For the sake of a few votes, McCain is willing to overlook the fact that there are hairtrigger people out in the world just waiting for an excuse to act out their own personal disorders.
