Daily Kos:

Today's Daily Kos Research 2000 tracking poll has Obama up over McCain 50-43. All trackers are data from three days prior to posting, with R2K from today (yesterday) and the others from yesterday. Trackers will start to reflect Friday's debate performance today, but fully reflect it Tuesday.

...

Yesterday's polling, the first after the debate, was the strongest Obama day picked up by the R2K tracking poll. He led 51-42, and therefore, Obama had a +9 on Sa to go with +5 Th, +7 Fri (MoE +/- 5.1 for individual days.) Sarah Palin's fav/unfav are now -10 (40/50), and Obama is +27 (his improvement is via dropping his unfav to 32.)

So I'm listening to NPR's Morning Edition on the way to work, and they're interviewing this McCain Campaign worker in MO. And here, more or less, is what she said (paraphrased, of course... my memory's not THAT good):

"A lot of people in MO who are against choice and believe that everyone should have the right to carry concealed weapons were upset when McCain was nominated. Now that Sarah Palin is his running mate, these folks feel that their top priority issues will be taken care of in the White House."

So, the GOP ticket's base in MO is people who want Roe v Wade overturned and want to be able to carry a concealed gun without a license.

And McCain is UP by 3 points in MO.

While I understand the giddiness over Palin's slide in national polls, we should not discount her ability to communicate to the moronosphere in these "swing" states. For these guns 'n' God rustics, she is truly "one of them." We would be foolish to underestimate her potential impact on the campaign.

Which is one way of saying that Biden should feel free to rip her to shreds. Dinosaurs... feh!

"moronosphere"

I like that. Is it original? It should go viral.

John McCain has shown that by picking Sarah Palin, that he only puts himself first and not the country. If I was a Republican, I would feel completely disrepected by McCain and his horrific judgement! I sure hope the Reublicans wake up soon and realize that's it's not about party, it's about selecting a qualified candidate, that will represent the United States well.

I don't believe that nonsense, but there are a lot of people who do. There are even some science people who claim there is evidence that humans wore shores and used metal nails one million years ago.

I don't think that a lot of people believe it and it sure would be nice if someone would ask her these things on the record.

Sarah Palin thinks the world is only 6000 years old, so she would still be at odds with these scientists.

Regardless of Palin's downward decent...most telling numbers reported from MediaCurves are the Independents' perception of who won the debate in these categories:

Financial Recovery Obama 60.76
Lessons Learned in Iraq Obama 59.52
Who Won Debate: Obama 61.11

This is good news for the Obama camp...it's the Indies we need on November 4.

Governor Palin is right about the dinasours. If you look closely to the members of her party, you can easily detect a paleontological strain of recent extraction. Start with Paulson; the dinasour features are there. The way he walks and gestures is typical of the Acromantius gang that existed in Bridgeport, Connecticut some years ago. And then, and here you don't have to look very hard, look at Senator McCain or former secretary Kissinger. You can almost imagine them running around the plains of Arizona chasing young maidens for breakfast.
But the real proof is in what they say and what they believe. Typical Ignorantus Maximus family!

I believe the old style dinosaurs went extinct because Kissinger ate them all.

The dinosaurs you mentioned must be on some kind of protected species list because we just can't seem to shake them. Some species deserve extinction.

Sarah, like Hillary, has to suffer. She should not have to suffer all this mocking and humiliation. Why does she have to be tortured by the press this election season? Because the meanies are in control now.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 06:35 AM on 09/29/2008

These are the big leagues. Obama has sure had to suffer, and so has McCain. This isn't for the weak of heart. They can shake hands when its all over.

Then mock Obama for all his body language, to start with, that shows him as a petulent teen smirking and interrupting and not knowing what ITH he is talking about. It is all so one sided this election season that it is repulsive and just mean. But then young people just don't know what is ahead of them in life to have any balanced perspective.

If you can't stand the heat, you have no business in politics. Sarah should get out if she is getting her feelings hurt. She also should have made sure there were no skeletons in her closet that the opposition could find. It is and has always been dirty, nasty business. Look back in history...

This is a woman who, allegedly, we're told had more executive experience than Barack Obama and Joe Biden combined. Now that she's seen for the space cadet that she is all of a sudden the bar is lowered to ground zero and she must be given an easy ride in the debate. Why can't people, who claim to be intelligent ,see her so-called popularity for what it really was - an excuse to hide behind their mask of racism rather than own up to the latter and deal effectively with the issues at hand? Only the outright bigot or an extraordinary, dumb partisan would subscribe to the notion that Sarah Palin has an kind of attribute to be a VP let alone be the President of the United States in the evnt of a John McCain win and him, for obvious reasons, not completing his elected term of office.

I wouldn't attribute all of the early Palin hype to racism, but yes definitely that was a large element of it.

The question here is how low will her numbers go. Are we going to be in Bush range or Cheney range?

REPUBS HAVE NO INTENTION OF WINNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Any documents and interviews that are gathered by the career prosecutor presumably will be covered under federal grand jury and investigative protections, keeping them under wraps for months, until after Bush leaves office.

OK,, Here is Knutes,,, Totally Unscientific Poll,, to date.

Just derived from Folks I am calling from our local Obama/Biden campaign office.

Republicans favoring Obama. About 30% and holding strong.
Independents,, for Obama, moving up now at about 60 to 65%
Democrats,, 75 to 85% and will crawl to the Polls.
That new group of Republicans,,, Anti Palin,,, was 5 to 7%, mostly Women,, Now, seems evenly split, Women and Men, now seems around 15 to 18%, but very vocal and growing.

Who won the debate?

Rep. 70 to 75% McCain
Dem. 85 to 90% Obama.
Ind. 65 to 70% Obama.

Source: Little tick marks I put in my pocket notebook.

All the best
