Report: McCain Camp Hoping For Bristol Palin Wedding Before Election

In an election campaign notable for its surprises, Sarah Palin, the Republican vice- presidential candidate, may be about to spring a new one -- the wedding of her pregnant teenage daughter to her ice-hockey-playing fiancé before the November 4 election.

Inside John McCain's campaign the expectation is growing that there will be a popularity boosting pre-election wedding in Alaska between Bristol Palin, 17, and Levi Johnston, 18, her schoolmate and father of her baby. "It would be fantastic," said a McCain insider. "You would have every TV camera there. The entire country would be watching. It would shut down the race for a week."

Levi didn't even want to get married. but for the campaign they will be forced to. if I was Bristol, I would divorce him right after the campaign is over, and sell the engagement ring Levi gives to her to www.idonowidont.com which is what I did after I divorced my husband. I bet you even Sarah Palin would support that. Levi will want out too!

There is something seriously wrong with parents who wil use their children, with great enthusiasm and little sense or compassion, for political gain. This should set off alarm bells, loud and constant, everywhere.

I refuse to believe this based on the fact that I just don't think anyone could be so LOW and I don't see how her getting married will help this campaign. Also she is not Lady Di marrying a Prince no matter how they try to spin it and whoever said if Palin allowed this she would be a despicable parent...I agree

If this is true--and I believe the Reps would try anything--then S Palin should be tried for child abuse. These are two children who finds themselves in a situation that is hard enough to deal with. Let them alone. If Palin was any kind of mother she would stop dragging her children on the campaign trail. Do you see any other candidates children on trail? She is allowing her children to be used and to me that is abuse.

Let me get this straight........Republicans want to protect the SANCTITY of marriage and not allow a union between a same sex couple, but its okay to push two young kids into it for political and publicity reasons. This should be a huge insult to the same sex couples that can't get married. Makes all the sense in the world to me.

Since McCain has boycotted the main-stream media, they should boycott the wedding. Go ahead and have it; just dont cover it. Nada. Nothing. Zip. Not even entertainment tonight. Nothing. No bump. No jump in the polls. Nothing. It is not news, as the kids are off limits, right?

So, please MSM, dont cover such a wedding at all.

I'm curious -- if Bristol gets married, won't she be dropped off her parents' health insurance? Does young Levi have a job that comes with benefits? Exactly who is going to pay for this baby's delivery and early childhood health care? 'Cause it damn well better not be me and the other taxpayers.
