CBS: More Palin Footage Coming

There is some buzz stirring among the politically obsessed that CBS News is sitting on embarrassing segments from its interview with Gov. Sarah Palin and that the station would trot out those segments sometime this week.

The Washington Post's media reporter Howard Kurtz stoked the flames this morning when the reported in his Media Notes column:

"And the worst may be yet to come for Palin; sources say CBS has two more responses on tape that will likely prove embarrassing."

In the end, it seems, there are no saved tapes. A spokesperson for CBS, says that the station has released all of the footage from last week's interview -- in which Palin provided increasingly unsteady answers to a series of foreign policy and economic questions.

The source clarified that what Kurtz was referring to is part of the Vice Presidential Questions series with Palin and Joseph Biden which was always scheduled to air in the days before the vice presidential debate.

"The series is based on the Presidential Questions series," the source says, "in which Couric asks the candidates the same set of questions on wide range of topics from policy to character to leadership."

In addition, CBS has some new Palin content coming this evening. The cameras will be following the Alaska Governor and John McCain on the campaign trail in Ohio Monday.

The sad thing is that these aren't "gotcha" questions. They are easily forseeable in preparing for an interview. McCain has to be reconsidering (or is being pressured to reconsider) his VP choice. Someone in the press has to ask "will Sen. Palin be your VP choice through the election ?" A "vote of confidence" question leaves too much room for evasive answers.

We all need to flood CBS with e-mail that they MUST air this footage, we are talking about the potential President of the US!!!!!!! This is not a joke or a game! We know she is not qualified, I should say, smart people know. Stupid people need the proof. Just wondering where is the call for Biden to step down. FDR giving all those speeches during the depression you know.

And as for Obama most people will over estimate the number of states we have at 52. I guess the largess of the most liberal Senator we have will account for that one.

Most importantly though is he will sit down an talk with any old dictator or tyrant.

Facts and figures are not as important as policy.

I love Biden :) Go, Joe!! He puts his foot in his mouth because he's not scripted, is the real straigh-talker (unlike McCain) and is clever enough to speak on any subject (unlike Palin). He knows more foreign policy than in his great toe than Palin will ever learn. I'd hand him the keys to the white house in a flash.

All the suggestions of checking for earpieces seems a bit parinoid. But with this administration I don't doubt they would pull an earpiece trick.
It seems that the Repubs always try and brush off her gaffs as a gotcha question.
I trust Sarah will be Sarah and not do well in the debate. I think you see what you get with Sarah.
She may have done well in the debates for Gov. but she lives in that states and may know more about her state than the lower 48. I think she lacks the knowledge, she may be prepped but how much can that small brain of hers hold.

If they give her an earpiece her responses will be delayed. You will notice a decided difference in her speech pattern different from her interviews. Someone needs to give her a big hug after the debate and brush the hair from covering her ears to reveal the mike.

Was it five colleges in 6 years? A supposed journalism major, who never worked in college media, and only worked briefly as a sportscaster? And she couldn't even decipher her own crib notes during the Couric interview?

Hey what happened to that one piece of the CBS interview footage where Palin was outside talking to Katie, and she said that she had been influenced by all sorts of people, including "mediums" in the past? Did I just dream that? I could have sworn she said it. Not that I'm biased or anything, but the American people should know if a potential VP or Prez gets that kind of metaphysical guidance for future policy discussions. Did the McCain camp pressure CBS to wipe that comment? I know I saw it on like Thurs... she said "mediums" , not media... ouch. She's a doozy! Go Biden!

S Palin is so much like Pres Bush (the No-Child-Left-Behind president.) It seems as though She doesn't read much to keep up with current events. I believe they will give her the questions prior to the debate. Otherwise, she is going to embarrass McCain. There is no way she can be ready in 4 days. I don't feel sorry for her because she presented herself to the American people as being tough.and relentlessly going after Obama. Now she's showing confidence and going after Biden, which is why I think she's been given a head start.
