Turn the Lights Down Low The real secret to looking great in lingerie? Good lighting. I'm not in bad shape, but it's still the most important thing. Lighting is one of the most carefully calculated parts of any burlesque show, and after 15 years of performing I know what looks good and what doesn't. Soft pink light is far and away the most flattering. Overhead light can be harsh and unflattering, so opt for mid-level instead. Or just turn them down - I have dimmer switches in every room of my home!
Perfect Fit I know it's been said a million times, but get professionally fitted. I was a lingerie buyer for years, so an ill-fitting bra drives me crazy. A bra should fit perfectly on the middle closure, and sit in a level line around your ribcage. If it rides up at the back, try a smaller back size. Most of a bra's support should come from underneath rather than the straps, so if you've had to significantly shorten or loosen them, get remeasured.
