I Like ItI Don’t Like It

Chris Matthews points to John McCain's failure to provide the leadership that he promised -- and took credit for:

McCain said he was going to lead the Republican charge, he was going to make sure that this was a bipartisan success...he called charge, and the Republican retreated. That's what happened here.

Here's video:

Here's what McCain staff and surrogates were saying before the vote:

"This bill would not have been agreed to had it not been for John McCain... This is a bipartisan accomplishment, a bipartisan success. And if people want to get something done in Washington, they just watch John McCain. He's been the guy whose name is at the top of major pieces of legislation for a long time."
-- Mitt Romney, NBC's Today show, 9/29/08

"What Senator McCain was able to do was to help bring all of the parties to the table, including the House Republicans, whose votes were needed to pass this"
-- Steve Schmidt, NBC's Meet the Press, 9/28/08

"We're optimistic that Senator McCain will bring House Republicans on board without driving other parties away, resulting in a successful deal for the American taxpayer."
-- McCain spokeswoman Kimmie Lipscomb, 9/26/08

Those are the ignorant ones we can't do anything about. With all these facts thrown in their faces, and they still believe him, they can't be helped.

In 2000 I actaully thought Mc Cain should have been the GOP nominee. Of course G*ore should have been the president but I am glad that it was W that stole the election and not Mac. He is more scary.

In CRISIS can we stand FOUR MONTHS of a POWERLESS PRESIDENT and VICE PRESIDENT?

No! They can not control Their OWN REPUB HOUSE and They are causing MORE DAMAGE!

We MUST START IMPEACHMENT HEARINGS and THE CHARGES ARE:

1. False Statements to Congress and the American People regarding IRAQ.
2. Non-Regulation of Stock, Bond, Banking, and Oil.
3. Non-Enforcement of SEC Rules on "Naked Shorts" that drove Companies to Bankruptcy and Merger.
4. Excessive Leveraging of Oil Market to Force Oil to Record Highs.
5. Non-Regulation of Mortgage Industry that lead to "TRICK" Loans and lost homes.
6. Non-Regulation of Derivatives which combine HIGH RISK LOANS together and Sell as Low Risk.
7. Non-Enforcement of Rules and Regulations in ALL INDUSTRIES.
8. Excessive Executive Pay for POOR PERFORMANCE.

There is literally REAMS of INFORMATION including Video, Audio, Text, Phone, and email evidence to convict these perpetrators.

This list is so factual, precisely worded and makes the case for impeachment like no other. PT6 gets my vote for the next President of the seriously-broken USA. Thank you.

Man that McCain is incredible. He did this all by himself. Him and Bush are miracle workers. Bush can make hurricanes and now McCain can crash markets. all by themselves. If that's true I wonder what the chosen one (O) can do? Oh my god people have you lost it or what?

We aren't the ones taking credit for getting a job done that wasn't done. Did you read this post?

McCain doesn't have much time to think these days. He's to busy babysitting Sarah Palin.
Any parent will tell you that when you have to mind the kids you don't have anytime for
yourself.
He needs to lose just on the fact that he chose Sarah Palin as his VP choice.

I'm sorry, I'm not buying any of this. For more than eight years, Matthews has been one of the media shills who have given candidate Bush (Later known as The Village Idiot) a free pass on just about everything, from his frat boy days with dugs and drinks to his downright STUPID policies that led into this mess in the first place.
If Matthews and the other horns in the mainstream media noise machine had been doing their job right all along, The Village Idiot would be as big a laugh as a has been governor as John McSame's current veep selection.
Matthews pontificates and all of a sudden he's on the road to Damascus, rather than the road to Oz. What's a matter Chris, somebody steal your gold bricks and turn them all into bad paper? I'd sooner trust the guys who pick up my trash every Tuesday morning to give me their slant on the news than listen to this buffoon who lays down trash that suits him any and every night of the week.
I remember when Newsmen had some sense of responsibility and integrity. But what can I say? I grew up in the news media with Murrow, Huntley and Brinkley,Cronkite, Ed Pipp, Jack Anderson, and Olbermann. Can you blame me for having a taste for champagne rather than Matthews brand skunky beer?

Even Matthews accidentally tells the truth sometimes.

I think Bush or Congress should call in every current and former Treasury Secretary, SEC Chairman, FED, and a dozen of the top economists in the country, and NO POLITICIANS, to sit down and hash this out and figure out what solution is best for THE COUNTRY.

Then, Congress should agree to endorse whatever consensus the economic think tank comes up with!

When you have a medical emergency, you call in a doctor. When you have an economic emergency, you call in economists!. NOT Politcians!

yeah, but that makes sense... it is logical and smart... when have any of our "leaders" shown such qualities.

You don't think economists are political?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 12:35 AM on 09/30/2008

Sure, economists are political, and they have different philosophies and opinions like everyone else.... but, they also have a working knowledge of the economy, and regardless of philosophy, there are certain economic rules that will work, and those that won't, and will have a better idea of what will and what will not work better than a bunch of politicians whose biggest concern is reelection.

Regardless, I still think it's a better idea that what's being thrown out there right now.

good luck finding any of those people who aren't in the pocket of some high level politician.

It's time to put back in place the protections those criminals have worked so hard to remove from the moment they were enacted. I'm talking about Glass-Stearns. Lets repeal all the deregulation that the lobbyists paid for over the past 4-5 decades since it never was in the publics' interest. Then and only then can the American people get behind any kind of bailout situation.

To merely suggest to seek the advice of those who made the system what it was today is erroneous.

Perhaps Senator Obama will have to try to deliver more Democratic votes for this Republican bill in order for it to pass.

ARIZONA VOTED AGAINST MCCAIN

I love the fact that John McCain blames the vote going against the bailout on Obama. But there is an interesting fact out there. ALL the representatives from Arizona voted against the bailout? It just shows how much the other reps from AZ respect McCain. If he can't get the republicans from his home state to vote with him how is he going to get the rest of the nation to work with him. Maybe they are angry because while McCain brags that he has never done anything for his home state, they are all stuck working for the people of Arizona in DC.

ARIZONA
Democrats — Giffords, N; Grijalva, N; Mitchell, N; Pastor, N.
Republicans — Flake, N; Franks, N; Renzi, N; Shadegg, N.

Thank you Chris Matthews!
MCCAIN FAILED! Today was McCain following in Bush's "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED" footsteps when he tried to take credit for the passing of the bill before it failed.
Country First? Suspend the campaign permanently and take those who voted NO with you!

If you vote for Mccain and Palin.....you are not doing yourself any favors.....you are just setting your self up for a big let down.....hope you enjoy the fall. McCain - graduated 5th from the bottom of his class; was the son of a elistist; suffering from anger issues and tons and tons of uncalled for sarcasm....he's and his little buddy Sarah have scared the crap out of people and that, Todd, is why Obama has moved ahead and has had the respected grassroots campaign in Political history. His voters are donating to his campaign.....McCain has all his lobbyist friends.....this must make you feel all warm and fuzzy huh....
