McCain To Hold L.A. Fundraiser

Weeks after John McCain mocked Barack Obama for raising money in Hollywood "with his celebrity friends," the Arizona Senator is slated to join his wife for a fundraiser on Los Angeles' Avenue of the Stars this Wednesday.

The McCain-Palin Victory California Leadership team is sponsoring the October 1 event at the Century Plaza Hyatt Regency in L.A. Supporters who bundle at least $250,000 receive entrance to a host committee dinner and private reception; others can attend the general reception for $1,000 per person (or $2,500 per person for a limited edition "McCain-Palin CA" lapel pin).

The event comes two weeks after McCain chided Obama for fundraising in southern California. "He talked about siding with the people just before he flew off for a fundraiser in Hollywood with Barbra Streisand and his celebrity friends," McCain told a crowd in Ohio. "Let me tell you, my friends, there's no place I'd rather be than right here with the working men and women of Ohio."

All told, the McCain event could be incredibly lucrative for the Senator's Victory Committee (his own campaign is currently operating off of public funds). No word yet who is attending - but don't expect Streisand to be on the list.

Wonder if they are going to let Palin attend. I think he should suspend the fundraiser due to a campaign crisis after all his daughter should be studying up for Thursday. By the way, what's up with Palin's daughter following him and Cindy on the campaign round? Is she there just in case things go rough and then they can say "Oh and Bristol is here to announce her wedding" to distract the crowd? Don't bring her if you don't want us to talk about her.

The majority of Obama's money is comming from you and I. The "Middle Class". This is something John McCain knows nothing about. He and his wife Cindy are worth over a hundred million dollars. I wonder how much money they made off of Lincoln Savings and Loan and the lost retirements of many elderly people during G. Bush Sr.'s administration. Everyone must learn that McCain was one of the Keating 5. In this election we must look at not so much at what the candidates say as to what they DO or have Done. For his 27 years in the senate John McCain has shown me that he is for the rich in the hope that making them richer will trickle down to main street. That didn't happen in the Reagan administration and it will not happen now. Think about it, how many times have you seen in business workers busting their humps for a company and the company does well and then the employees are told there are no money for raises or we will have to pay more for health care. When the upper level of executives get huge bonuses and wind up with new homes and sports cars. TRICKLE DOWN = TRICKLED ON for normal folks like you and I. His Judgement is the poorest I've ever seen. Evern poorer that GWB in my opinion.
