Sean Penn's "Milk" costar James Franco has further dished about the pair's lengthy on-screen kiss. Franco told Out magazine, "After our [on-screen] kiss, Sean texted Madonna - his ex-wife, Madonna - and said, 'I just popped my cherry kissing a guy. I thought of you. I don't know why' . . . There's a scene in the pool and everybody else is dressed and there's just something uncomfortable about that."

Previously Franco told GQ Magazine:

"The first kiss of the movie was out on Haight Street, with, like, 200 people watching, outside. I'm sure in the end it will be a really cool shot, but it starts close and then it takes maybe a minute. That's a long time on film with everybody watching, and, like, a fake moustache getting in your mouth. It was long enough that you couldn't help but thinking, 'Oh, my God, I'm kissing Spicoli.'"

Good for him. I'm glad they can still communicate.

He should stick to kissing men, they are better equipped to fight back when he gets abusive.

He wasn't abusive... He punched a photographer. He and his wife were fighting, they wouldn't leave him alone, he punched them. I, for one, am glad Sean is outspoken. He's done great things with his fame. Check out his political writing and absolute fearless honesty. So there.

I guess you don't think tying Madonna to a chair for nine hours isn't abusive? I also heard there were problems of an abusive nature in his marriage to his current wife. I hope he has changed for the better and doesn't behave that way anymore. As for the other aspects of his life, I give him a lot of credit. He did great things in N.O. and I think his politics are right on the money. However, I get sick of the public lauding public figures while the horrible things they do to women get ignored.

So, everybody but me is texting?

Because I find the practice really cumbersome. I don't get the attraction to it at all.

What the hell is wrong with actually speaking to other humans?

You text so that you just say what you needed to say and get out of there. You don't have to have a full on conversation if you don't want to. See?

Only after we kiss a movie star.

"I'm kissing Spicoli." Great comment. I'm still laughing.

yet another example of homophobia in hollywood. str8 actors playing gay roles and telling the media what it was like to give another man a kiss. when will hollywood let gay actors pay gay roles? i guess a real life gay actor kissing another real life gay actor in a gay related drama isn't newsy enough.

I don't get this, gay actors play straight roles all the time. I'm apart of the LGBT community and I just don't understand this issue. You are acting... hence, not yourself.

I agree. It's too bad, though, that gay actors are forced to continue acting straight in real life.

I think straight actors think it is some sort of badge of honor, or you have really proven yourself as an actor, once you have done a same sex role. Big deal, I say.

And what gay actors would you put in the movie that are as talented as Sean?

I'm CERTAIN the are some...as if Sean's the only good actor around...come on!

Seriously, there's no one that brings enough box office clout to the table so that they have the money they need to spend on making the film.

Sure, it would be wonderful to see some great unknown become a star playing Harvey Milk, I think in the perfect world it's what Harvey would have wanted, too. But ... Harvey also knew that you had to have the money behind any project, which is why he spent so much time fundraising.

If he were here today, we'd be that much closer to equality, marriage and a cure.

Oh come on.

Gay actors have been playing straight romantic parts for years. An actor doesn't need to be the same orientation as his or her character. What matters is if the actor is good or not. What orientation an actor is should not determine what roles the actor gets.

I don't have a problem finding out how straight actors feel doing gay roles. It's actually good because it should lessen homophobia. I mean if a straight actor can do a sex scene with another hunky straight actor, then maybe it's not so icky if people think someone's gay.

What really would be wonderful and healing would be more news about how gay actors feel after playing straight romantic roles. I'd really love to hear about how Alan Cumming did such an excellent job of being Gordy in Gray Matters and being in love with Heather Graham. What was it like for him kissing her?

Style *is* Substance

Man, woman or child - who would want to kiss him? I like his politics, but I also like Tom Hayden's politics - wouldn't kiss either one of them with someone else's lips.

I would kiss him any day. He's H.O.T.! But then I love the dark, brooding, brilliant types.

Hmmmm. For someone who once held her hostage and tied up, seems odd they'd have any contact at this point. Don't know as I'd want to be kissing the little creep. Might have cooties. ;)

Omg,

I would play Harvey Milk if that would let me plant one on James Franco...and I'm a woman.

Why is a married man texting his ex?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 06:38 PM on 09/29/2008

Maybe because he's in a secure relationship with his current wife? A relationship built on trust? I can't imagine NOT being able to talk to an ex-spouse if I chose.

Didn't Sean Penn and Robin Wright Penn divorce?

They have separated. I guess Sean likes to spend time with young chicks. He must be crazy.

because he was kissing a man, I doubt if Madonna's flattered.

Is he trying to intrigue Madonna into a three way? And how did this piece of fluff hit the publicity machine?

Could care less about this "story," but judging by the preview, "Milk" looks like a fine movie and a fitting tribute to a real hero.
