I Like ItI Don’t Like It
Blunt

Maybe it was Barney Frank's mockery, or maybe it was just an impulsive decision to tell the truth, but Missouri Republican Roy Blunt, the lead House GOP bailout negotiator is backpedaling his claim from Monday that Nancy Pelosi's floor speech turned had led to GOP defections.

Blunt told ABC News that only "one or two" Members could have been affected by Pelosi's speech, adding "I think you don't want to give too much blame to that speech."

Politico also has an interesting piece up about how John Boehner's job may now be in jeopardy. What struck me most was this paragraph:

“You can’t break their arms, you can’t put your whole relationship on the line, ask them to do something that they do not want to do and have that member regret that vote for the rest of their life,” Boehner said. “Twenty years from now, nobody will care how anyone voted except those members. You can’t do that. You just can’t.”

No wonder the vote failed. Not only are they rabid right-wingers, but their leader doesn't even really think it matters much anyway.

Redemption? All those of the GOP who want to go forward into the land of the FREE, forsaking all crimes previously committed are heretofore forgiven insofar as they promise to tell the truth and work for their constituents in support of the Constitution of the USA. Take the oath of Truth, Honor and Integrity and promise NEVER to sell your souls again for filthy lucre.

Here's a tip: when you link to an article whose title accuses someone of not being able to spell, it's incumbent upon you to ensure that your own text is free of glaring spelling mistakes.

A lot of people intentionally misspell names or put in odd punctuation to increase the likelihood of getting their blog comment through the censorship program. These sites are rigged to trigger a moderation of the comment if certain names or terms are used in the text.

Twenty years from now no one will care who voted for what? That's surprising news considering how "urgent" a "disaster" this bill is supposedly going to prevent. Twenty years from now, the American public will still be *paying* *for* this bill, so I harbor a hunch that what goes down on the books for posterity indeed will matter twenty years from now. Typical lack of foresight.

This is posted in an attempt to discredit Obama. Its full of cherry picked factoids and distortions. Don't be fulled. The group critisized "Acorn" has worked against predatory lending.

From Wikipedia: ACORN has fought against lending practices that it sees as predatory by targeting the national companies that practice them, working for stronger state laws against predatory practices, organizing against local financial scams, and steering individuals toward loan counseling.[3] Following a three-year campaign Household International (now owned by HSBC Holdings and renamed HSBC Finance Corporation), one of the largest subprime lenders in the country, and ACORN announced on November 25, 2003 a proposed settlement of a 2002 national class-action lawsuit brought by ACORN. The settlement created a $72 million Foreclosure Avoidance Program to provide relief to Household borrowers who are at risk of losing their homes.[3] The settlement came on the heels of an earlier $484 million settlement between Household, Attorneys General, and bank regulators from all 50 US states.[4]

The thing the rabid right know how to do best is how to squander anythng they touch. Our reputation, our militiary, our economy, absolutly everthing.

It is therefore no surprise that they would squander this chance to fix a little bit to the mess their incompetent policies created.
