Cubs Set Playoff Roster

Felix Pie earned the final National League Division Series roster spot Tuesday as the Cubs decided to go with a defensive outfielder instead of slugger Micah Hoffpauir.

Pie hit only .243 in 43 games for the Cubs, but with Mark DeRosa's sore left calf, the Cubs may need a late-inning defensive replacement in right field if DeRosa gets a start in the outfield.

Hoffpauir hit .342 for the Cubs in 33 games, but is considered a defensive liability in either left or right field. Hoffpauir, catcher Koyie Hill and pitchers Michael Wuertz and Kevin Hart will report to the Cubs' facility in Mesa, Ariz., to continue working out in case they are needed for the NL Championship Series when the Cubs can change the rosters if necessary.
