I Like ItI Don’t Like It

David Kurtz at TPM writes, "John McCain made the morning show rounds today. On Fox they were virtually begging him to 'suspend' his campaign again in the wake of the bailout failure yesterday on the Hill. You know, since it worked out so well the first time. McCain's answer: He just might suspend again."

McCain's comments follow a blog post by William Kristol yesterday arguing, "if this is really 'a national economic crisis,' and others have failed to lead, then McCain should lead--by re-suspending his campaign (fine, let observers mock him when he announces this), and leading his party and the Congress towards a solution. They won't mock if he can pull this off."

Watch the video of McCain on Fox News this morning:

Uh...

...wouldn't you have to have actually suspended your campaign the first time?

Seriously?? I feel like I am in kindergarden with a bunch of damn kids! This is the guy Republicans want to elect as President?

The whole McCain/Palin situation every day gets more like a comedy soap opera, everything is for TV consumption only. It is okay to suspend a campaign, but then at a meeting at The White House, hardly speak??

I just wonder if McCain is behind in the polls on the 1st November, do we call for the election to be suspended??

Now they're just grasping at straws. He knows that Palin will be failin at the debates on Thursday so they have to do something to "suspend" the train wreck.

Since it worked so well the last time...

Is this what they mean by doubling down????

I'm starting to worry that McCain's gambling problem may be playing out right in front of our eyes right now. Maybe his aides shouldn't keep him from the craps table. He clearly needs an outlet for his dangerous habit.

I've got an idea for John McCain - how about suspending his campaign until say November 11th?

Obama/Biden '08

Till Nov 5th works enough for me.

Suspend his campaign? A typical Republican approach, expecting a different outcome from doing the same thing over again. (Isn't that the definition of insanity?)

just suspend it for good, come on it is over.
