I Like ItI Don’t Like It

David Kurtz at TPM writes, "John McCain made the morning show rounds today. On Fox they were virtually begging him to 'suspend' his campaign again in the wake of the bailout failure yesterday on the Hill. You know, since it worked out so well the first time. McCain's answer: He just might suspend again."

McCain's comments follow a blog post by William Kristol yesterday arguing, "if this is really 'a national economic crisis,' and others have failed to lead, then McCain should lead--by re-suspending his campaign (fine, let observers mock him when he announces this), and leading his party and the Congress towards a solution. They won't mock if he can pull this off."

Watch the video of McCain on Fox News this morning:

If John McCain is saying that he is going to suspend his campaign again he is lying. I was in Las Vegas tduring his first suspension of his campaign. While there the TV cable stations were still showing all of his campaign videos. Now again he is caught lying to give a boost to his campaing. I guess his VP choice Palin is just like him constantly lying about the Obama campaign. Palin just referred to Biden involved in speeches since she was in the 2nd grade. I guess she was stating that he was too old. I think she better take a good look at the McCain that is 6 years older than Biden. What a sad state of affairs.

Lying is John's way of coping with all ofhis shortcoming and there are way too many to list.

Palin in 2nd grade in '71 - Biden not even in the Senate until '72.

Blah.... Blah....Blah... Raise taxes , not raise taxes... Is this a "Euphoric Word"?

Where are jobs?... Oh I know Wall street will have some trickle down after they are done with us? no homes, no health care, no jobs then we will take anything. The American way... Country First after Wall Street.

This is the Hillary approach. If you're losing, throw every possible scenario at the opponent and hope that one sticks. If you have nothing to lose, which McCain appears to have at this point as seen in his drop in the polls, why not go for broke? If it's an idiotic move, what will happen? People won't vote for him and Obama will remain in the lead? How is this a problem for most Obama Democrats? Just sit back and enjoy the show. http://mespace.wordpress.com

Correction:

Yes, Yes. Yes. Thank you for reading between the lines. But you forgot to mention one important aphorism:
"We don't become better, we just become MORE."

"I will do whatever it....in the long term senator Obama wants to raise, bla, bla, bla, bla. Answer the question. If it's worse now, btw some in congress stuck around to work on the bill, why haven't you suspended your campaign?

Re-suspend it? Did he ever announce that it was un-suspended since the last time he suspended it?

Maybe he could just put his campaign in a box like Schrödinger's cat

While the box is closed, the campaign simultaneously exists in a superposition of the two states "suspended campaign" and "unsuspended campaign", and that only when the box is opened and an observation performed will the wave function collapse into one of the two states.

Oddly enough its the dem's who are in the drivers seat. The repubs can do nothing without support from the dem's and it won't be McCain riding in on a white horse leading the charge. Country first my as*, McCain knows darn well this is about campaign first.

Those two tools claim McDumb actually suspended his campaign.

McDumb himself couldn't digest that lie from those two fools.

McDumb and his entourage should stop saying 0bama will raise taxes. It is starting to sound out of desperation.

You're really understating, and not thinking through the details and implications.

Yes, he didn't suspend his campaign. But if he did "suspend" his campaign again, that would give him cover to lose the election. "I'd rather lose an election than desert my country in its time of need blah blah blah." Seriously. It gives him a graceful exit.

And you're way understating the things McDumb and friends LIE about what Obama will supposedly do. If I could afford it, there would be about seven broken TV's in the parking lot three stories down from my apartment. Somebody should start an on-line support group. It's just so ignorantly bold-faced. Not even bold-faced. Just really really disgusting.

Please, please suspend it in total and forever. Do as you say and put your country first and put all of us out of the misery you rain down on us.

Poor John - failing once with his 'suspension' stunt wasn't enough? Now he wants to do it again??

And people still seem to think he is capable of leadership... yeah, right.

I'am very confused, how can he suspend his campaign again when he never suspended it the first time. talking about some fruitcakes, all I can say is oow wee.

As an old high school history teacher, I always thought a suspension was when a kid was sent home for doing something he/she wasn't supposed to be doing in school. I guess this "suspension" is when you run a campaign in a way you're not "supposed" to run it--ONLY negative ads, without saying what YOU WOULD do, NOT giving your opponent the same deference YOU would expect at a public forum, choosing a running mate on the basis of emotion and not qualifications.
When you are faced with your actions, you DO need to be removed from the arena!
